- Q: I heard the wind turbines, solar panels so far provide America with around 2% of our energy. So since liberals appear to want to replace natural energy with man made products, that cause massive pollution by the way to make- How long will that take 30 years, 00 years? How many Wind Turbines will Airplanes and birds and parachute jumpers smash into, isn't that a problem? How do we rid of natural energy before we have the LIBERAL BACK UP PLAN - WE DON'T REALLY HAVE ? How do they think this is gonna work? Its not logical, we need to come up with more ideas! That Battery idea kinda sucks since Batteries Need natural energy to work.
- Both the wind turbines ( windmills) and solar panels are less costly to implement than nuclear power and have less disaster potential. They have proven that Windmills miles out in the ocean are a great source of power. This dose not consume any land. For land bound areas they should use public roadways to line the windmills. For areas without sustainable winds they can use the combined effect of windmills and solar power. Honey, any motor needs oil. Whether it is a generator for a windmill or a nuclear reactor. Motors are what runs the world. Consider the amount of oil to run a nuclear facility. Tons more than a generator motor. Once a turbine is activated (motor started) the winds themselves turns the windmill. Each turbine is lined up with the next (wind farms) to push wind at the blades, they each push each other.
- Q: What i would like to know is if you were using commercially available solar panels, clustered as close together as possible and spread out on one acre, how much electrical energy is produced? if u can 'translate' this into terms of ( hour of average daylight = powering a ____ for X units of time)
- There okorder / Why pay thousands of dollars for solar energy ($27,000 average cost) when you can build your own solar panel system for just a fraction of the retail cost. You can build a single solar panel or you can build an entire array of panels to power your whole house. Some people are saving 50% on their power bill, some people are reducing their bill to nothing. But what’s most impressive is that just by following these instructions some are even making the power company pay them!
- Q: Ok so i have to solar panels to charge a battery however the panels hooked up in series does charge the battery very slowly because series connections only multiplies the voltage but leaves the current the same. Is there a way i can also hook both of them up in parallel at the same time to multiply the current for faster charge? I know i can do this with 4 panels but i dont want to spend extra. So is there a way to hook up 2 solar panels in series and parallel at the same time? Thanks in advace
- No. Series means one thing, parallel another, and they are mutually exclusive.
- Q: I have an electric bicycle that I travel to work by, pulling a modified child carrying trailer that holds two 2 volt deep cycle batteries in series to power the 24 volt bike motor. I'm thinking about adding a 50 watt solar panel (or larger depending on the room I can make available) to charge while I'm at work and to provide some extra juice while on my more distant travels. Can I get a solar panel to charge them while they're connected the way they are: in series? Does charging work that way?I've read that in order to charge the 24 volt battery setup (if the answer to the Q above is yes), the output from my solar panel would need to be a little more than 24 volts. Is this true? If so, how many volts?Since the bike is supposed to be powered at 24 volts and I have an x-volt (x gt; 24v) solar panel connected to it, will this cause any damage to the controller or other components while running them? Will it help supply power even while the motor is being run? Thanks.
- You did not give the AH rate from your 24V battery pack, therefore , unable to suggest a correct current rate solar panel. The solar panel open voltage rate at least 30V to charge a 24V cell. No harm to controller since the charging current is so small even bike is in running condition.
- Q: I thought that I had a fairly good understanding of watt's law, but i'm starting to doubt myself. If I have a load of 4500watts at 240 volts, how many watts of solar panels do I need, if the solar panels are at 2v?Yes, Yes... I have a charge controller, batteries, etc...So the way I looked at this at first:watts = volts * amps For the load4500 = 240 * xx would be 8.75aFor the power source (each solar panel)00 = 2 * xx would be 8.3a8.75 / 8.3 = 2.25, rounded up = 3So... based on that I came to the conclusion that I needed 3 solar panels...But... then I was thinking. Does it work that way?Or do I need 4500 / 00 = 45, aka 45 solar panels? In other words...If I have a 2v power source, how many watts do I need to drive a load of 4500w at 240v?ThanksMatt
- The easy way is to just use the power values. You need 4500W. Each solar panel delivers 00W (from a value in your working). Therefore you need 4500/00 = 45 solar panels. This is a crude calculation, ignoring efficiencies, voltage conversion losses and losses due to internal resistance. You would probably need quite a few more than 45 panels. ___________________________ I'll explain how to do the calculation your way. Each solar panel delivers 00W with a voltage of 2V. So the current is 00/2 = 8.333A. Each solar panel delivers 8.333A at 2V. But you require 8.75A at 240V panel delivers 00W. To get 4500W, you need: 8.75/8.333 = 2.25 times more panels to increase the current AND 240/2 = 20 times more panels to increase the voltage. So overall you need 2.25 x 20 = 45 panels. Of course if the power output of each solar panel is not 00W, you have to change the above calculation accordingly.
- Q: How do solar panels perform in cloudy weather?
- Solar panels can still generate electricity in cloudy weather, although their performance is reduced compared to sunny conditions. The panels are able to convert diffuse sunlight into electricity, but the amount of energy produced will be lower.
- Q: Can solar panels be used to power a space station?
- Yes, solar panels can be used to power a space station. In fact, many space stations, such as the International Space Station (ISS), rely on solar panels to generate electricity. These panels capture energy from the sun's rays and convert it into usable electrical power, providing a sustainable and renewable source of energy for the space station's operations.
- Q: Are there different types of solar panels?
- Yes, there are different types of solar panels. The most common types are monocrystalline, polycrystalline, and thin-film solar panels. Each type has its own unique manufacturing process and efficiency levels, making them suitable for different applications and budgets.
- Q: i've heard that solar panel batteries have to be replaced withen 5-0 years. how much do solar panel batteries cost? please include sources!
- solar panel batteries have many sizes. we can provide the price based on the power. in China it is 0.5625 dollar per watt.
- Q: I can't figure out how to charge a Ni Cd (BD 8V Firestorm) battery directly with a solar panel so I've come up with an alternative which might or might not work. I thought I would connect an inverter (I found a nice 400W for $30) to my trucks battery and plug the BD Firestorm battery charger into the inverter. Then I was thinking I could use a 5W solar panel to trickle charge the truck battery and keep it connected after the Ni Cd is charged to ensure the truck battery is topped off. The truck would not be running during this process. Will this solution work? Is there a better solution?
- Two of those solar panels connected in series will easily charge a 8V battery. I would not even be concerned about over voltage the solar cells will have plenty of internal resistance.
