- Q: i live in doncaster where can i look for an wholesalers or a wholesalers website iv already got a shop someone is going to rent me there shop so i need a mobile phones and accessories wholesalers website or a wholesalers any ideas??
- I even have the cingular walkman. It became cool at first yet now it is kinda boring. So on Saturday im gettin the pantech duo. it particularly is an incredible telephone and would slide up like a widespread telephone and the sideways for an entire qwerty keyboard. it is kinda like the LG rumor yet extra helpful. stable luck!
- Q: Hi i have been doing some research into mobile phones and i came across a few terms that really confused me, i understand that when you talk on the phone the data is converted from your voice into digital signals, the part i dont understand is where modulation such as PSK occurs and how TDMA and CDMA fits into all of this can someone tell me what the relation is between these things.thank you
- There are a few parts to a mobile phone system: most obviously you have the radio interface, some kind of two way radio link between the handset and the 'base station'. This transmitts and recieves digital data using quadrature phase shift keying (PSK). This is a kind of modulation very similar to FM, but is used with digital signals rather than analogue signals. So the digital data is used to phase shift modulate an RF carrier which is then transmitted, and picked up by the base station, which then demodulates the PSK signal to recover the digital data. This is all very well and good, but what do we do when we have many users? How can the base station distinguish between the signal from one hand set and another? This is where Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) come into play. TDMA (used in GSM systems) is a kind of time division multiplexing. Each user gets a certain 'time slot' in which they are allowed to transmit their PSK signal in. So each user takes a turn and sends a few bytes at a time. In GSM there are 8 time slots (I think, i cannot recall exactly) in each channel (frequency). The bit rate is low and special vocoders are used to get voice audio into a low bit rate. CDMA works differently, on principles originated by an Austrian actor (and electrical engineer and mathematician!) Hedy Lamarr
- Q: I would like to purchase a mobile phone with sim card from the states and send it to my fiance in Nigeria? I already did it and it took forever for it to be delivered, but he did get it. But he is unable to use it cuz of the american sim. He wasnt even able to put his existing sim into it to make it work. I want to actually buy a phone online and have it sent directly to Nigeria. Is this possible? I just want to make sure it will work and make sure he gets it faster than the last time. I tried to find a phone online that works with his phone provider which is called Zain Nigeria and I have had no such luck. Please can someone help me. thank you very much
- The simple answer is, you can't. Most US phones do not work in Africa and vice versa because they use different operating systems. Mobile phones are ridiculously cheap in Nigeria - on the street you can buy many different models for under $10. Everyone in Nigeria has a mobile phone, even poor people, because they are so cheap.
- Q: how virus effects on operating system of mobile phone during accessing internet
- Mobile phone usually don't get virus unless it is a Symbian, Android, Blackberry. Java phones cannot have virus. So the virus actually runs on background and consumes all your memory and your phone becomes slow. So just have an antivirus and only download apps certified from GoeTrust, VeriSign, Thwate, or any other but not Darkman.
- Q: Im getting a new phone from t mobile later, and want to know what people think of their phones. I already have t mobile and not changing carriers, so don't tell me about verizon phones. I want a good one based on text messaging and taking pictures. Also speed with browsing through the menu, and overall performance. Thanks!
- ok
- Q: I need to purchase a new mobile phone when I get to Malaysia. Am I able to purchase a prepaid sim card that will able to phone Australia. What advice could you give me.
- Yes you are able to purchase prepaid sim cards once you get to Malaysia. They are available at any phone shops or camera shops. Most of these prepaid sim cards come with a top-up value which you could call home or receive call after you have successfully registered your sim. The shops selling you the sim card will assist you with the registration.
- Q: I work in a small communications department (4 people, 1 of whom just resigned) and am wondering how best to approach my boss with the topic. Since we are at 75% working capacity at the moment it would be helpful if I had a mobile work phone to better stay in communication with the team and organization as a whole. Also important to mention I am the most junior level person in the department (also only member without work phone.) ~TIA
- It helps to really examine first your motive upon asking your boss a mobile phone. Does your need actually stem from your professional need of a mobile phone where you can actually say that your job is flooding you with so many contacts than you could handle. If so, all it takes is for you to deliver a clear picture of your need and a little courage to approach your boss in a way that would not make them think that your request is personal. Make them know that you yourself are able to produce your own mobile phone and the basis of your request only deals with your 75% working capacity which you perceive to be something that you can still improve. Hope this helps!
- Q: i have a t-mobile phone with an att sim card, it says i need a subsidy code, anybody work for t-moble or att that knows
- I don't work for either company, But what I do know is once you have an active account with att you can take your sim card and put it in any att phone and it will work. I honestly don't believe you can switch phones like that with out having an active account Good Luck
- Q: I have a virgin mobile phone I purchased about three years ago. Do they allow free upgrades or discounts on newer models? Anyone had any experiance with them?
- Lg Rumor Touch , Blackberry Curve 8530 , Or The Samsung Intercept .
- Q: I tried asking this earlier, I think, but I was in a hurry, and didn't get it out. My friend is trying to set up a Yahoo email account, but he does not own a mobile phone. Can we make this work, or does he have to find a different mail-providing site?
- He needs a computer or laptop connected to the internet. Then he can set up an email account wherever he wants. All over the world every 500m (1500 ft) are Internet cafes. He could use one of those, where is the problem?
