- These are dangerous peices of equipment, they endure high stress and are at times pushed to the physical limits. I have on occassion worked with and under them and always had a lot of respect and always felt safer when away from them. Construction cranes in particular are more dangerous because they are forever changing in height,position, amount and type of load. Cranes in permanent installations are ususlly carrying same or similar loads. Construction sites are hazardous due to many factors but just about everything on site gets handled by the crane at one time or another. Inspection,inspection, and re-inspection with concurrent correction/adjustment are the only preventative measure availble beside the assurance of competency of the operator. There are plenty of laws about them already but this is not to say new ones might be justified as new hazards become apparent. Most terrorists are too dumb or lazy to get involved with cranes--why bother when so many easy targets are out there !!!!!!!!

- Q: hi, i was just looking for a guide to change a full stock to a crane stock on an m4, (its wired to the back)i dont actually have the gun yet im buying it from a freind, so i havnt had a chance to look at it but the the gg gr16-r4i was wondering if its just a m4 with a stock that is wired to the back, how there is the two long screws that run from the back of the buffer tube to the body, then you just switch it out for a crane stock...anyway anything would be great, thanks

- Q: Two cranes can unload a ship together in 8 hours. The faster crane takes 12 hours less than the slower crane, if each were to unload the same ship alone. How long does it take for each crane to unload this ship?
- Fast Crane = A unload x /hour Slow Crane = B unload y /hour A + B = 8 hours x /hour + y /hour = 8 hours (average rate) average rate = (x + y) / 2 so 8 hours = (x + y) / 2 and x + y = 16 since the slow crane is 12 hours longer, x must be 2 hours, since they will both take 2 hours and the slower crane will take 2 hours plus 12 hours equalling 14 hours. The rate of crane A is 2 hours to unload and the rate of crane B is 14 hours to unload. The average rate for both to unload is 8 hours. There were certain assumptions made to solve this puzzle and it is not clear how they actually operate on the ship while unloading. ~~ The most practical way to unload the ship is *NOT* to use the slower crane since it takes longer for them to work combined, than for the faster crane to work alone !! - Start with a square piece of paper. You got that? Fold the paper corner to corner to get a large right triangle, and fold it corner to corner again to get a smaller triangle. You got that ,or did I lose you. Open the paper, and you will see a big X. Never mind the X. We will come back to it. Now fold the paper side to side to get a rectangle, and fold the two SHORT SIDES to the X fold. Open and do the other two by repeating what you just did. Open the paper FLAT. You can now see a 4 pointed star. Along the four sides of the square, push down on the perimeter of the star to make the star come up. Fold down until you have a flat KITE. Make sure you have 2 flaps on each side. What you are looking at now is one wing, and the other one is in the back. The neck and head are inside the wings. Pull them out half way to expose them. Fold one side at the tip to make a head. If you did everything correctly, and hold under the neck with one hand and pull the tail with the other hand, the crane should flap its wing. Write back if you need more help.
