- How do you mean unsaturated?? Polyester resin IS A LIQUID !!!!! The benefits are inexpensive and easy to wotk with and not as toxic as some other resins like Epoxy. It cures fast and allows multiple layers of laminate layup over the coarse of a day. Downside? Not as waterproof over time as originally thought in the 70'sand now proven. It can be coated with Vinylester or Epoxy once it has cured to add water exclusion properties. Vinylester and Epoxy are the prefered resins in todays boat market but they are harder for beginners to work with and more toxic.

- I am a suppler of vinyl products, and can tell you that I have had an issue with the lifespan of vinyl/resin products. They are great on shady sides of your home where there are no heat sources such as ac units and BBQs. They will survive the rain and weather great, but can crack if hit with hail. Ac units and BBQs can soften or even melt the resin. even a lawn mower can be hot enough to cause deformation. The resin products have been popular since 1991 and they are just now showing signs of damage. Sun damage is the number one concern. the resin becomes brittle and is cracking. steel sheds are weak and cannot take abuse. rust is always a concernbut i have one in my yard from 1978 and it still works great. I would suggest a Strong wood shed for a lifetime of durability. it will require some maintenance to keep like new.
