- You don't necessarily have to get snow tires unless you live in an area where snow is horrible (like north/central US - Montana, Wyoming, etc). Get a GOOD set of all-season tires. Look for the ones that are rated the highest in snow rain handling. Go to a local junk yard (or look online, there are a bunch that will locate send used parts cheap) and pull four rims from a mustang. If they don't have a mustang, do a little research to see what rim sizes would work with your car and pull those. Then, get four snow or all-season tires and mount them on the used rims. This way, you can change the rims tires out whenever you need the better handling and not have to worry about trashing the custom rims or loosing control with the performance tires. Also, Mustang's are Rear Wheel Drive, so your best tires should ALWAYS be on the rear wheels. - Wood sealant wont set solid in depth like resin. Resin has a special hardener, which allows it to solidify all the way through. If you just need to toughen up a sculpture in another material, the sealant will work fine, but if you want to apply it in bulk you will need to go for the resin, as the time needed to build enough thin layers of the sealant would be excessive. It really depends on what finished effect is desired, the materials of your piece etc.

- Yes resin does produce heat as it cures. (It's an -exothermic- reaction). Sometimes the instructions will give you a choice of putting in a little of the catalyst so it cures slowly, or a lot so it cures more quickly. The less you use, the slower it cures, and the less heat it it generates. As for dissolving the resin, I'm pretty sure anything strong enough to dissolve the resin is also strong enough to dissolve plastic beads. So I wouldn't see the process as reversible. 8^)

- Fiberglass is a substrate, not a resin. When you are building a composite structure the substrate (Fiberglass, Kevlar, Carbon Fiber, etc.) provides the strength, while the binder keeps the substrate in its shape. My personal favorite Clear Resin is West Systems Epoxy hardened with the extra clear hardener. It mixes up yellow but hardens clear. And no, Kevlar is translucent yellow when it is wetted out with resin, plus it is more flexible than glass, which is more flexible than carbon.

- The epoxy resins called floral setting resins often used inside glass vases, etc, may also stay a bit soft so I doubt you'd be using those. You could use another type of plastic though (resins and polymer clay are all plastics) and shape it in your hands, though only briefly with each pass and would not take fine detail. That would be a thermoplastic kind of plastic. That would be subjected to heat (usually hot water) till the pellets or sheets soften, then removed from heat and manipulated/shaped till cool when they will again become hard. Some brand names would be Shapelock, Polymorph, and Friendly Plastic (strips or pellets). .
