PICTURE OF OUR WORKSHOP
- Q: true. I just want to take a baseball bat to the car that keeps blaring it‘s alarm.they have become so ubiquitious that no one really cares a car alarm goes off anyway.
- they are necessary when your car is valuable or contains valuables or if you want to protect your investment alarms are good for security its the CHEAP low quality alarms that are unnecessary
- Q: I‘m about to buy my first car and I‘m dead set on a civic. 98-00 and sinced its the most stolen car in the states. I plan to modify it so I need the best alarm system so I don‘t get jacked. Now a Guy on Craigslist has alarms (viper) that are refurbished and idk if I‘m getting a good deal. He wants 280 for alarm and remote start and installation. How much is it new and is this a good deal or bad?
- I would go with a viper I think with a kill switch on it so jus in case ur car is stolen you can kill all the power to it and they also come wit a locater but that will set you back a few $$
- Q: So I have 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited. Every time the doors locked and I go to unlock it manually the alarm goes off. And in order for it to stop I have to put the key in the ignition. (I have to do it manually cuz I don‘t have the unlock button that connects to your keys ) anyways. I did find the fuse box for the alarm.but that works the horn also. So if I take the fuse out the alarm doesn‘t work nor does the horn. And I need the horn. I‘m just really frustrated and I need help. It‘s very annoying.
- There should be a switch inside the door that turns off the alarm when you unlock it with the key. Try unlocking the passenger side door (if there is a keyhole on that side, some cars don't have one).
- Q: My parents own a 1992 Toyota 4 runner, and the alarm system is driving us nuts. It went off yesterday near a mall, and it screamed at us all the way home. We had to crawl out the passenger window to get out, and now the only way to start it is to push start it because it has an automatic shutoff on it. When we do get it started, the alarm goes off when we touch anything CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP US?
- Although it's an older model car, I would suggest taking it back to a toyota dealer (if it's a factory installed alarm) or if not, take it to a car alarm dealer and explain the problem, they should be able to help you --or at least disable it so it doesn't work. Not working all the time, is better than living this way. Good luck!
- Q: i have a 2001 pontiac grand am GT and i recently bought some subwoofers and would like the best but most affordable 2-way car alarm system for my grand am to protect my goods. I live in a town with alot of robbery and i know a few people that have had their whole interior taken out of there car. Please give ideas and tips on whats good and whats not. thanks
- well technically none because nobody listens to them anymore anyway and in some cities its illegal to have them sounding off for more the 15 minutes but i see you said you have Pontiac that means its a GM brand then you could see about connecting to onstar which can help you in many ways -including notifying you (or the police) if someone is breaking into your car also recovering stolen cars
- Q: My girlfriend‘s vehicle has a NuStart nu3500 car alarm that works fine with the exception of a faulty hood pin. Whenever it snows and sometimes when it rains it sets the thing off. We know it‘s the hood pin as it was replaced once before and it did fix the issue, but the pin has since started to malfunction. Is there a specific way to disconnect the hood pin entirely or will this screw up the system? I just find it ridiculous to have to have it go in for a replacement every 6 months.
- Looks to me there is usually just one wire going to a pin switch and all it does is ground the alarm when you open the hood so all you need to do is unplug it and there will be no ground and wrap some electrical tape over the end of the wire connector so it does not ground to something. Don't see how it would hurt anything to unplug it even if it is a Mercury switch just unplug it and cover the end. if it does not set the alarm off when you unplug it, it should be alright unplugged, if it sets the alarm off plug it back in, it shouldn't hurt anything.
- Q: Why does the car alarm call itself?
- Alarm device has a device called vibration sensor, when subject to external shock, will transmit the signal to the host, the host as an alarm, then send the signal to the speaker, start the alarm. Do not want it to casually alarm, you can vibration sensor sensitivity to the minimum, in fact, does not affect the anti-theft effect, but this time is not particularly large shock does not alarm only, but the abnormal means to open the door speaker will still alarm, the same effect. At the same time do not lift the alarm to play fire, do not open the car.
- Q: Just had installed an aftermarket remote keyless entry/alarm system for my 1988 Olds Ninety-Eight. This alarm is a shock alarm, meaning that if the car is touched hard, the alarm will sound. I know from other people's experiences that loud noises/big trucks/sound systems that might cause a vibration may set off the alarm. I am wondering this question and did not see it addressed in the manual: if the alarm does sound when I am not around, it will stop in 3 minutes or so, I believe. But is the car still armed? Is there any harm to this situation? Will the alarm reset? Thanks!
- Most alarms have a built in NPC. Nuisance Prevention Circuit (or something like that). If one zone keeps triggering the alarm, it will not continue to do so until reset by the remote. All other zones will still be armed though. Check your manual
- Q: We purchased an Oldsmobile Intrigue nearly 3 years ago, and we always thought it had a fake alarm system. (There‘s a small red LED light to the right of the steering wheel.) The other day, my husband accidentally hit this *tiny* little black button that‘s on the inside of the door molding, near the hood latch release with his foot and now we have an alarm that works. I never lock the car, and when I go down and grab the door handle to open it, the alarm goes off (more than the honking horn/panic button thing--this sounds like the Germans are coming, lol). Also, when I lock the door, it now makes this stupid noise like KITT from Night Rider and it chirps. My husband said he can‘t pull a fuse because it‘s an aftermarket alarm but has been hard-wired into the car somehow. How do I turn this crazy thing off? I keep forgetting to hit the unlock button and now I set the alarm off every time I get into the car. Plus, the chirping noise really bugs me when I lock or unlock it. Help?!
- saving on table cloths is really hard. i suggest you buy the material and make them yourself or if you have a friend who can sew get them to do it. if you can do it this way you will save a fortune and actually own the cloths. all you would need to do is find the right material and then hem the ends, very easy, anyone with basic sewing skills and a machine can do it. and like i said, you will save heaps, material is soooo much cheaper. if you don't know anyone who can sew maybe go to a taylor and see what they would charge, because the sewing is so basic it might still work out cheaper if you get the material and pay someone to do it. good luck!
- Q: I have a 1999 Dodge Neon with what I believe is an AutoMate 491 Alarm Remote (RPN491, FCC ID: EZSDE1490). I could not find a user‘s manual for it. This remote is a weird old basic model that sports only two buttons, #1 #2. There is no valet switch in the car. I am wanting to know how to disable the alarm. I believe that you can disable the alarm by using some sort of sequence with the two buttons on the remote, but I don‘t know what the sequence is. That is why I was looking for a manual. I believe this car was originally a Hertz Rent-A-Car when it was new. Maybe this weird two button remote was a special product Dodge was using for Hertz or Avis or something? The reason I would like the alarm to just be off (or at least a way to have it off temp.) is because I can‘t even check the oil without setting the stupid thing off. Mechanics hate me; they have to disconnect the battery so they don‘t have to hit my remote every 90 secs. just to change a tire or whatever, LOL. Thank you.
- in all honesty, nothing less than a 50 gallon is worth the time, effort, or money to convert to saltwater. no saltwater fish would happily thrive in a 20 gallon.
