- Usually you can adjust its sensitivity instead of just disabling it, it may just be set close to the maximum or at it and need to be toned down a little. I can't give you step by step instructions on how to change the sensitivity as it varies from alarm to alarm, but it it's an alarm Mazda put in it I'd call them and ask. One of my cars did something similar, just needed it's sensitivity adjusted.

So unlock it with your door key, open the door, alarm will go off, put in key and turn it to the ON position. If that does not work the worse that will happen is the alarm will go off for 2 minutes then reset. So yea wait till the daytime and your neighbors are all up out of bed.

- Q: I have a 97 Jetta and to arm the alarm you just lock the driver's door. I locked the door while it was open and I heard the armed beep but the door didn't lock. I went and opened the door and the alarm went off. To disarm it normally you just unlock the door or turn the key in that position. I did that I also tried locking and unlocking the door and that didn't work The alarm shuts itself off after about five minutes but goes off again if I try to start it or get back in the car. The alarm is connected to the starter circuit which makes it so I can't start the car at all. I have tried pulling plugs and such but that didn't work. I don't think disconnecting the battery will help because then I still won't be able to start the car. MY NEIGHBORS HATE ME!!!
