Q: Their made of hard plastic and are privacy panels: Like privacy screen? We have that on one side of our deck. I've also seen what appears to be sheet plastic on entire porches and then they call it a Florida room. Of course I live in FL so that may have something to do with it.

Q: I'm about to move into an apartment room that I have been warned gets very cold in the winter (I live in MN). However, the person telling me this also mentioned that the windows had not been plastic wrapped the previous winter. In her opinion, however, plastic wrapping the windows would do no good because according to her quot;you can actually feel the cold coming up through the floor.quot; I think it's possible though that what she felt coming in through the floor was actually the drafts from the window sinking to the ground and spreading. Would plastic wrapping my windows eliminate this problem? Or would the room still be cold/I should request a different one? Thanks: The glass itself? No. It needs an air barrier between the plastic and the window.. So basically you put plastic on the sill and walls, covering the window over all, and yes, that does work. I do it on my bathroom window during winter. Because it gets freekin' cold. Nobody likes taking a hot shower, then walking out of it nude in to Antarctica..

Q: some jerk took a razor to my passanger window to steal nothing out of my jeep... and now i have a large rip in the window. how would i go about fixing this. and obviously tape will work but i'm hoping there is a better solution. now if i buy replacement windows will the colors match my older somewhat weathered top (black)... i wouldn't mind buying new windows but i dont want my jeep to look weird. thanks: you get windows tinted by the amount of light they allow to pass through. they range from 5%-70% (5% being nearly pitch black). if you can find the tint number on the other windows you may be able to match it if you went to a dealership.

Q: What is the U value of the heat shrink plastic window film?: no ideal, just know it keeps the cold air out. it might tell u on the package u buy.

Q: ...even when washing it? And I live in San Diego, not like in TX where the cling probably would bake into the window. But the windows are tinted, so it would have to be on the outside. The cling is about 6quot; in diameter.: I would think it may stick, but it would probably fall off due to the bumpiness of driving, plus when you wash it, it will make it fall off. If your windows are tinted, I wouldn't even mess with it because it may cause a discoloration, but I am not positive. I hope this helps you some! Btw, I love window clings too! :)

Q: I want to install low-E plastic film on my window. I'm a do-it-yourself and I want it to be revesible for summer and winter to ensure I save the more energy. I also want something transparent.Thanks: One of the cheapest places to get it if you can do it yourself is at Lowe's. They sell a large variety of tint with different shades and performance for windows and doors you can custom cut. If you are trying to save energy, they have a heat reflective film that I believe is up to 90% heat reflexive. It is in transparent and mirrored coatings. If you plan on removing it, make sure you get the static cling style and you can remove it and reuse it against next season because there isn't any adhedsives left on the film or glass. Make sure you really wet the glass and film on installation. Good luck!

Q: well i have a 1992 alfa romeo spider and some idiots sliced the back of the convertible on my plastic window. i was wondering how much it would cost if i send it to a shop and they sew off the old plastic window and sew back on a new plastic window: they can do it --they have to remove the top-remove the stitching from old window and remove window-sew in window- replace top on car--this is NOT cheap but still cheaper than new top=--look for about 400 buck charge--shop all the auto upholstery shops in your area first--talk to your friends -talk to people in auto industry that have used any shops--you are naturally looking for someone that can do the job and do it efficiently and correctly- and at the lowest price==most shops operate on the cheap,good,fast idea--you can have any 2 of these statements--cheap and good not fast--you get the idea

Q: rail that holds window fell, i took apart and see thta two lil plastic white bushings was broken. but cant seem to find it online or at parts store... there really aint many junk yards around here. do i really have to buy a whole door kit to get this fixed????: you can order the parts separate from a dealer,that's the best place to get those at,they don't cost but a few bucks,and are well worth it,good luck.

Q: ok i have a corvette 1986 convertible. The car isn't perfect but i love it. the main problem for me is the rear plastic window. It is brown and is not visible at all to the inside for the outside. I need to know if there is any product out there that can go beyond the cleaning of oxidation. i want the window clear again. And yes it has been left outside for about 5 years to face the elements but i was not the first owner so i presume that it has been outside longer. so the question comes down to how do make the window go from brown to clear without buying a new top.: It is replaceable fairly cheap by an auto trim shop if it wont clean up. any good plastic cleaner applied carefully might do the trick but at that age i'm doubtful,,the car is worth if you have to replace it or call me and i'll buy the whole car!!
