- Q: Do they use glass or plastic for windows on aeroplanes?
- I believe it's dense plastic, similar to bulletproof glass. Glass shatters, and that's not something you want on a plane. So typically dense plastics are the way to go. They are strong and shatter resistant.
- Q: Is it ok to recycle these envelops with other white office paper? Or do they belong to the garbage bin?
- The plastic would be a contaminant. You should either remove the plastic window before recycling or dispose of the plastic window envelope in a garbage bin. Putting plastic windowed envelopes in with recyclable paper can render the entire batch unusable.
- Q: And then you use a hair dryer on it and it shrinks the plastic?Does that work for all plastic? Will all plastic shrink? Or are the ones in the store a 'special' type of plastic?
- Not all plastic shrink. The window kits you refer to are specially designed to shrink. There are also craft plastic designed to shrink suck as shrink a dinks a crafty kit for making all kinds of interesting toys and gadgets.

- I agree. nail polish remover does not remove. it ruins it further. might as well use oil based thinner but is it's still not working then you might need to replace the window.

- Have you looked in home improvement stores for big, wide, heavy duty (thick) pieces of plastic? {usually comes off of a roll) It may be big enough, and being heavier, it will do a better job of preventing heat loss.

- If you can afford it get a set of full doors and you'll have the best of both worlds. In the winter I have a hard top with full doors for comfort goodness, in the summer I switch to the soft top and half doors. You are better able to enjoy having the top off with the half doors. watch craigslist for a set of full doors and surrounds. they will coat between 500 and a grand most likely. More if you get the hard top too. unzipping the windows isn't that big of a deal really.
- Q: Ok so me my bf moved in together last may and have had about a 115-138 dollar power bill every following month. All of a sudden the past 2 months our bill came in at $200 bux! - if you cant afford the silver bubble wrap then get a bat of R12 insulation and some 6 mil poly. put the R12 against the window and then staple the poly over it. it should help. if you really want to save money on heating then move out of the mobile home. those things are notorious for not having any insulation (or at least not properly installed insulation) in the exterior walls.
- Q: Ok i have a couple bonsai trees and some other assorted potted plants and i wanted to know if i put plastic sheets on the windows to keep the cold from affecting the plants if that would affect how much light the plants will get. And if it does affect it, by how much? Thx for any help i can get
- No as long as you see the light going through this only affects pets the need to bask in the sun and get UVA/B rays from the sun for Vitamin D because plastic and glass filters out the rays not the light.
