- Q: How to choose the connection mode of clamp type flexible pipe joint correctly
- Pipe end connections do not need to be done to the end of the pipeThe pipe end connection omits the overall length of the pipe and reduces the costThe overall price of the clamp joint at the end of the pipe is higher than that of the steel ringThe steel ring adopts the way of socket welding, and has certain requirements for the welding positionThe steel ring requires cleaning of the pipe port, i.e., the sealing surface
- Q: I was wondering if microwaves can mess with a pacemaker and if there were other things besides microwaves that could. I have a relative who is getting a pacemaker and need to know.
- local fire stations replace hoses that are worn. they may have some you can get.
- Q: the smoke detector here goes off every few nights. while interconnected, only 2 out of the 6 go off, and they all have fresh batteries and have been replaced. (yesterday) none of them are near enough to other sources to cause them to be going off. any ideas?
- Not sure what you have there, but flex pipe usually has Pipe threads on both ends. Some ( when designed to hook up gas appliances ) have Flare fittings on each end. If you intend to use the flex for water, any connector will do, but if you want to run Propane or Natural gas through it, you have to use either black pipe of Flare fittings. ( For black pipe, besure to use a good sealant to prevent leaking ) You should head out to the local hardware store or Home Center and talk to the guys there. Tell them what you are trying to accomplish, and follow their recommendations. Good Luck
- Q: What is swagelock fitting?
- 25 bar is a lot of water pressure. What is the actual operating pressure? For 25 bar, I would make the jump to 300 flanges. What code are you building to. I would suggest ASME/ANSI B31 for petrochemcial work. That standard contains a chart to tell exactly what the ratings are for each situation.
- Q: My smoke detector is incessantly chirping and needs to be replaced. But it is hardwired to the ceiling and I'm not sure how to get it out. It has a battery compartment on one side and then three wires connected to it but I'm not sure how to get them out. Can anyone help me?
- It's not impossible to MAKE it, but how would you transport it? That's why it is sold in standard lengths.
- Q: Which rod is best for light saltwater use?
- I think a key difference between necklaces and a metal rod is that the metal rod is on the inside of your body. In most cases electrical current flow is on the outside of a conductor. This is why people inside of cars and planes are usually unhurt by lighting strikes. The current flows through the outside metal body. Or, If you have ever seen a demonstration at an electrical show where someone stands inside of a cage and the cage is hit by electrical sparks and the person is fine, this is the same concept in action. Referring back to your original question, jewelry is on the outside of you body and is a good conductor and the current will from your body through it, and the electricity then has to flow back through your body to reach ground. There is resistance heating whenever the current has to flow into another medium. This is partly what melts the jewelry and causes the burns. What would happen with a metal rod is harder to guess and would depend alot on whether or not it was raining and your body was soaked, but it is unlikely that that a rod inside the body would have a large current flow through it. It would not be electrically advantages for the electricity to flow from the outside of your body to the inside. The longer the rod get the more likely it is that it would become the path of least resistance and possibly receive current flow. If there was current through the rod, the most severe burn would happen where the current entered the rod and left it.
- Q: An accidential fire alarm was triggered at work and when I got out of the building I placed a call to 911. (Like the sign on the outside of the building says) 911 says its a false alarm bt they have to send the fd anyways. I tell my boss and when get back from lunch he says I'm being officially repromanded bcuse the fire department had to do an inspection that closed the building down for about 45 minutes. He stated that the floor marshal decides if the fire department or 911 needs to know. Can they actually legally repromand me?Can
- They sure do. Check your local hardware store or home improvement center. I have a couple of these in my house. They make plastic and copper versions, but I am assuming you would go with the plastic. These can be used to go from a metal (copper) pipe in the wall to plastic. Hope this helps.
- Q: When was the lightning rod invented?
- According to my Perry's reference there are pipe thread standards up to 24 inch but you typically only see threaded piping in sizes of about 3 inch and below.
- Q: Is there any way to lock a folder on my desktop with a code or hide it so that only someone who knows where it is can find it?
- I use to get Quest pipe fittings from Lowes, but they don't carry it anymore. I would check with a mobile home dealer in your area. (note: I did my current house with Quest when I built it in 2004, and no leaks have been noticed. I used the more expensive mechanical type fittings rather than the crush on type.) If all else fails, there is copper water lines, but I recommend you use mechanical fittings rather than solder type fittings. If you use copper, you will not have problems unless they freeze up.
- Q: I work in a factory where we make bed covers for trucks and the glue that we use is manus bond. Ive used rubbing alcohol lots of lotion and soap with scrubby brushes but nothing is working. If anyone has any ideas please help me out thanks!
- Nipples, as a plumbing term, are short pieces of copper, brass, black pipe, fittings, threaded on both ends. The I.D. is a variable as they come in several sizes. The old pipes, nipples, may have been blocked with hardness mineral, especially on the hot side. The old valves may need replacement also, if contaminated with minerals. You might want to check the screens on the kitchen and bathroom, faucets to check for blockage.Hopefully a plumber will see your questrion and offer better advice.
