- Q: Do plastic tubes have a smooth or textured surface?
- Plastic tubes typically have a smooth surface.
- Q: Are plastic tubes resistant to ultraviolet light?
- Yes, plastic tubes can be resistant to ultraviolet light depending on the type of plastic used. Certain plastics, such as PVC or acrylic, can be manufactured with UV stabilizers that help prevent degradation or yellowing caused by exposure to UV light. However, it is important to note that not all plastic tubes are UV resistant, and the level of resistance may vary depending on the specific plastic material used in their production.
- Q: the drinking water to taste like plastic of vinyl? Or could it be the new inline filter that I placed behind the fridge? I ran 3 gallons of water after I fixed the broken water line (split in half near the bottom where it 180s) and change the filter. When you first drink the water, it tastes ok. After the glass sits for a while, it takes on a plastic taste. Could it be that 4 inch piece of clear plastis hose I used to splice the water line?
- This will not taste like the plastic of vinyl.
- Q: What is the average lifespan of plastic tubes?
- The average lifespan of plastic tubes can vary depending on several factors such as the type of plastic used, the conditions they are exposed to, and their intended use. However, on average, plastic tubes can last anywhere from a few months to several years.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to glass tubes in terms of strength?
- Plastic tubes are generally less strong than glass tubes. Glass tubes are known for their high strength and resistance to breakage, while plastic tubes tend to be more flexible and prone to bending or cracking under pressure. However, the specific strength of a tube can vary depending on the type of plastic or glass used, as well as its thickness and design.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to rubber tubes in terms of elasticity?
- Plastic tubes generally have lower elasticity compared to rubber tubes.
- Q: remove it. Unfortunately I had to cut it off. I pushed the pastic in as far as I could but it didnt go all the way down. Now my dipstick cant be reinstalled and also if I do ever push the plastic down, will that affect the motor? I heard that there is a screen that will prevent any objects (plastic tube) from getting into engine.
- Yes there is a screen on the oil pick-up but a long piece of tube is going to probably hit counterweights or other parts of the rotating assembly. So it time to pull the dipstick tube out of the block and see if you can get the tube out or if all else fails pull the oil pan. It would be easier to suggest which route to go if I knew the application
- Q: I don't think it's a problem, but she's worried it's going to cause some sort of problem. We live in an apartment, so we're on a sewage system. The tube was a little bigger than a SMALL toothpaste tube. Maybe two fingers wide. Should I be concerned? Should the guy who lives below me be concerned?
- No, you shouldn't be concerned if you've used the toilet a few times since you posted this. If it was going to back up or be a problem, it would have happened by now. I hope that puts your mind at ease.
- Q: Sooo...i'm having some trouble here. I have about 3000 feet of plastic tubing (that looks a lot like the rubber tubing you'd see in a lab). Thats all i know about it.....and i need to find the right sized pump to get 2 gpm of water. Its 1/2 inch diameter tubing. Any sort of estimate would be nice.......trying to make sure i don't get a pump to weak. But don't wanna go to overboard (limited funds). thanks
- Take a look at friction loss table on the Internet. I saw one table that said 1.55 psi per 100 feet, and another that said 3.8. In fire sprinkler work, we use tables derived from the Hazen-Williams formula. I don't have a table that goes that low on flow. A search for Hazen-Williams will get you to the formula. You will want to use the actual ID or the tube. It may be different from the nominal ID. For a roughness factor you could use 140.
- Q: How do plastic tubes compare to polycarbonate tubes in terms of impact resistance?
- Polycarbonate tubes generally have higher impact resistance compared to plastic tubes.
