- Q: Can plastic tubes be used for electrical conduits?

- Q: Just curious, when there is only a bit of toothpaste left, I have to squeeze little by little from bottom up. But then after using it, I'll have to do the same thing next time around. Obviously the toothpaste has to settle down the tube. Why and how does it do that?

The toothpaste moves back up the tube to fill the available space as it is a type of really thick fluid. The shape may also lead to the toothpaste moving upwards due to capillary action (similar to how water moves up a very thin straw) To combat this effect, you can buy a little squeezy thing that rolls over the tube to prevent the toothpaste from moving backwards, or you can fold/bend it over as you use it like many people do. I store mine upright on the cap so the toothpaste settles at the end I squeeze it out of. The tube also uses less counter space when you store it upright as compared to laid over on its side.

- First determine the volume of filament you have: density of ABS =~0.038 lb/in^3 2lb / .038 = 52.6in^3 of material Second, determine the volume of each tube: inner diameter of tube = 5.25in-3mm=5.132in (both of your dimensions cannot be diameters, so I assumed the second was the height, if it's a tubular cone then the height is missing) volume of each tube: = 2.165in^3 per online calculator below. You could double check by calculating the volume of cylinders with the outer and inner diameters separately and then subtracting the results. 52.6 / 2.165=24.3 so you could print approximately 24 tubes

- Q: the tubes are bout 1cm ID with only about a 1mm thickness. I don't think threading them will be possible, and the seal between that has to be water tight.
- I would go for a coupler on the outside of the tube, which should be stronger and won't restrict the flow. Get some 12mm ID tube from a model shop or plastic supplier. Roughen the inside of the coupler and the outside of the ends of the tube with sandpaper, apply plenty of epoxy, assemble and leave to set. You might want to improvise some kind of jig to hold the 2 tubes in-line while it sets.

- I am pretty sure that they can climb it but beware because when it is time to clean the cage it is such a pain to hose those tubes.
