Q: I thought banks in its basic form is that they hold people's money. Why do the largest banks have such power/influence over politics and other aspects of society?
Governments made a deal with them to lend almost unlimited amount of money to the governments -- added to public debt ultimately repaid by their citizens -- when those citizens refused to allow more taxes taking that money directly out of their pockets. In exchange the banks were permitted to create risky investments with potentially large returns and the government would charge the defaults from those risky investments again to citizens' public debt. The citizens are nowhere near innocent in the process, as stinking piles of propagandist crap have suckered you into believing. The governments need the ever-increasing amounts of money to create more extravagant programs thumb-sucking little children in adult bodies citizens demand. Those demand governments pretend to be their mommies and daddies and care for and protect them all ways and always. Governments can never protect citizens -- on the contrary they demand citizens come and die protecting them from enemies they make -- and most of the programs they create are far more expensive than if the citizens did it themselves. But citizens want to sit sucking their thumbs and cry for mommy or daddy government to fix it when the overpopulating hordes still spewing babies around the world crash economies by undercutting wages with their swarms of excess labor.
Q: I would like to know who deregulated airlines, banks, and electic power
Airlines were deregulated by the same folks who regulated them: the federal government. Airline Deregulation Act of 1978 Banks are regulated by both federal and state laws, which have been greatly loosened over the last 25 years. Electricity is regulated by both state and federal laws, which have been loosened over the last decade.
Q: if so how is it done?
Look into a limited power of Attorney to do this, this would spell out what exactly what can and cannot be done. By granting Power of Attorney to a person they may or may not have access to your banking abroad. This would be determined by the policies of the banking office that holds your funds. If they are added to your account as a user then they would most assuredly have access.
Q: I am leaving for boot camp and want to give my dad my power of attorney to pay my bills for me. I went to the library and they had 2 different forms, 1 was a General Durable Power of Attorney and 1 is a General Power of Attorney and the man said is is for military. Which of these should I use?
Your best bet would be to get a Special Power of Attorney that states that your dad is authorized access to your bank account for bill paying purposes. Honestly, many places will not accept a General Power of Attorney and will ask for a Special instead. It stems from people who had their stuff stolen by others who were given General POAs, who then tried to find the bank or business at fault because that's not what the POA was for!
Q: I'm doing a project in school to make a bank advertisement for the Medici bank in Florence during the Renaissance. I need to know some of the services that they offered. I know the basic stuff like loaning money w/ interest, giving bills of exchange and stuff like that. Are there any specific services that only they offered. Any help'll be greatly appreciated.
The Bank de Medici bank rolled multiple pope's ascension to the throne, Pope Leo X (1513–1521), Pope Clement VII (1523–1534), Pope Pius IV (1559–1565), and Pope Leo XI. This allowed them to control all banking of the Vatican, which made them the church's official bank. This gave them supreme power as all clergy officials had to bank with them. So, you could advertise it as the Official Bank of the Church and Trusted by the Clergy and the like.
Q: I was recently told by a family member that because they are Power of attorney, they can spend money of the estate any way they wish. Can a Power of Attorney in the state of Maryland, spend, AT WILL, any monies they wish, according to their judgement, without having to give an account to the offspring of the deceased, where there is no will. Does anyone know about this type of thing? We are not getting any information about anything. If we ask questions, we get, I can do whatever I want because I am power of attorney and I don't answer to you!
If the person is deseased.they cannot just spend any amount they want when they wantthey are suppossed to keep track of any and all moneys used and what it's spent on.ubntil the probate courts do the rest.if there is no will. Sounds like there may be fraud involvedconsult a prbate atty. they can tell you for free if they are ready for prison or not.
Q: High Risk businesses?
Yes, and it has been successful.
Q: I am researching how banking was performed in the 1860s in the Territory of Colorado. I know its a bit unsual, but my son asked me some questions that I could not find answers too about the banking practices. Thank you.
Before the Federal Reserve was put in charge of regulating the monetary system there was no national regulatory control of banks. States had some laws, but legislatures can be swayed and manipulated by those with money. In those days, the financial power of a bank was based on the actual money it had on deposit, and usually backed by the gold in it's physical possession. There was no deposit insurance, and if the banker turned out to be a crook, or the bank experienced a run, where the depositors lost confidence in the institution and withdrew their money, the other depositors were just out of luck. Try the Federal Reserve website, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation for your data. They used to publish comic books to educate schoolchildren about subjects such as this.
Q: I have seen several companies that produce a air condition unit that runs entirely on solar power. The house I am cooling will be under 500 square feet. It will be top of the line insulation and windows. What is the cost of these units (for this size house) when compared to traditional central air systems? Costs should include installation, permits, running the ducts etc etc.
No kidding, I havent heard of them either. I want one
Q: I don't have Id for him I do have the Limited Power of Attorny nortiarize. He is currently in jail for next two years.
You can deposit into that account you have power over. The governemnt needs to know that the check went into an account with the bearers name on it. In your case you have power of attorney, you have rights to his accounts. You may not need his signature but to deposit it or cash it, it has to be cashed against an account with his name on it. One exceptionyour relationship with your bank. If you know the manager well and explain the situation to her/him, they may do you a favor.
