Q: i am experimenting with prototype wind turbines and want to record how much power one creates over a period of time
Depends on the type of power or energy. Assuming electrical energy You want to measure energy not power, as power is a rate of energy production. Easiest is to get a watt-meter, but it has to be sized for your voltage and type of output (AC or DC), and you also need a load resistor (or resistor bank if the output is high). The watt-meter, which is actually a watt-hour meter, multiplies voltage by current to get power in watts, and multiplies that by time to get energy. There are other ways, such as thermal, but that only works short term. So you need a watt meter plus a load resistor (or active load), both sized for your wind turbine. So first thing is to determine your voltage and max current output, then size the watt-meter and the load.
Q: I am Power of Attorney for my widowed mother. At this time of year property taxes of a few thousand dollars are due. My mom has Alzheimer's and stays in the house mostly. Rather than make her leave the house can I go to a bank myself and put the proceeds into checking? Are there different types of Power of Attorneys or should mine allow me to sell these bonds? If I can do it myself should I bring the Power of Attorney statement with me?
Not enough information to give you a good answer. A General Power of Attorney may, in your jurisdiction, give you the authority to sell your mother's bonds. Lacking that kind of power of attorney, you need to have a specific power of attorney that gives you the authority to sell her bonds. Generally, a power of attorney is granted for specific purposes, i.e., to sell a car, to make medical decisions, etc. If you're not sure, don't take a chance on exceeding your authority. With property taxes, you generally have some time to pay them, so if you don't get her money from her bonds into her checking today, you can get this done when she does leave the house. The reason she should make her own decisions is that you could be liable for doing something you don't have the authority to do. Pretty soon, we'll see a Y!A question saying, Our sibling exceeded the power of attorney and cashed my mom's bonds to pay taxes. Can we sue? In this case, it would be a lot better if your mom cashes her own bonds and pays her own property taxes. Best of luck!!
Q: Don't forget, you have POWERS. You don't need guns, or getaway vehicles, or some elaborate scheme to become a bank CEO. D
I am a super villian! I'm on the evil league of evil! I'm not going to tell you how I rob banks because that is classified information.
Q: How does the mobile power charge?
You re-plug the first to determine the plug to plug the good.
Q: Critics charged that President Franklin D. Roosevelt's plan to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices was in conflict withthe Supreme Court's practice of judicial restraint the constitutional principle of checks and balances attempts of Congress to limit judicial responsibilities efforts to restrict the number of terms a President could serveA major complaint of western farmers in the late 19th century concerned the increase in the number of immigrant settlers restrictive land policies of the United States heavy military expenditures of the Federal Government power of banks and railroads over the farm economy
1) The consitutional principle of checks and balances (FDR wanted to stack the court with justices that he knew would support his New Deal plan.) 2) Power of banks and railroads over the farm econmy (Banks were charging enormous rates on their loans and railroads were able to control supply/demand)
Q: I live in Ontario and am wondering what my options are for using wind energy to power my home and what i would need to do?
Depends on if you also maintain a power grid connection, and other factors. Without the grid connection, you need a huge and very expensive, bank of batteries, hundreds of them. You have to have the capacity to handle days (or weeks) when the wind is not blowing. If you have a grid connection, you can sell power to the power company and buy from them when there is no wind, you buy from them. If you have enough capacity, you have a net gain, and are using the power company as a storage facility. Go through the numbers. If your power consumption averages 1.2 kW, the US national average, for one day capacity, you need 1.2 kW x 24 hours 30 kW-hours. That costs US$3 from the power company. But for batteries, you would need 30 large lead acid deep discharge lead acid batteries, at about $300 each, total $10k. For many days, multiply that up. Four days, that is $40k worth of batteries. Bottom line, you need to know your average power consumption. And you need how many hours a week you get wind in the range the wind turbine can handle. For example, if the turbine is turning average 6 hours a day, and your average usage is 1.2 kW, then you need a capacity of 4 x 1.2 kW 5 kW. Plus extra for losses in batteries and inverters, probably 7 kW overall.
Q: His illness came on suddenly and he's been a vegetable for over 3 weeks, his family and I are all in agreement that his sister should be the decision maker as to his treatment, etc,and the hospital recognizes her as the decision maker, however, there is no power of attorney documents. I know she can go to court for guardianship but that is costly. I think she should have access to his bank accounts, etc and without a legal document, the bank won't work with her.( he doesn't have a lot in the bank to begin wtih but the bank won't budge) His family thinks she should just wait til he passes, then figure out finances. The doctors are not hopeful that his condition will improve. He can live like this for years. Is ther anything she can do to close his bank accounts, or at least have more rights?
Unless you were married to your ex and are still married to him, you have no legal say in what happens to him at all. His biological family need to go to court and petition for either guardianship or conservatorship since he didn't leave either a power-of-attorney or a living will. And frankly speaking, until a family member (or the Public Guardian) does this, the family (including the sister) has no right to access any of his money in his bank accounts. And the bank is right to refuse this access! If his sister (or other family members) want access to your ex's finances, then they must go to court. If they do not, I think you will find that the hospital's social workers bring in the Public Guardian themselves to provide protection for your ex's fiances. And by the way, that money can only be used for your ex's care. It can't be used to benefit his family or anyone else before his death. And if they do use it for their own interests, they could face criminal charges. Oh and as for waiting until he dies, even then if there is no will, then the monies/assets will be distributed according to state law and not according to how the family wants. Good luck.
Q: What is the capacity of the mobile power?
There are two specific reasons: one is the large-capacity mobile power in the security aspects of the problem more easily, followed by large capacity mobile power in the portability will be greatly reduced.
Q: I am 18 years old and I start college in January. I need a bank account for my financial aid, but I have no job and I have never really had to handle large amounts of money at one time. and I am very confused should I get a savings too I dont know. My mother told me that my name is on her account but I could think I should get my own account we use wells fargoAlso If you could recommend any banks to check out or any help at all thank you I live in GA if that helpsWhat should I do first
I would avoid wells fargo or any private banks, the fees and crap bulk mail they distribute is insane. I was with wells, it was a hassle. I am with a credit union, practically no fees, and better customer service. anyways you should get a checking account. look for an account with little to no fees. and make sure you get overdraft protection it's important!
