Q: I am looking at buying two Power Acoustik P3's, but still am weary about what kind of amp I need to power them. Each sub is 12, with 1300watts RMS 1600watts peak. Most Class D amps I have seen are rated at 4ohm, 2 ohm, and 1 ohm stable. These speakers run at 2ohms. On amps I am looking at run at 900watts RMS x1 channel. So if I am running 2 speakers, is this cut in half? So for instance instead of the amp running 900watts RMS, it would be running 450watts RMS to each speaker. To me, that's pretty underpowered. I'm not trying to break the bank on this, both speakers are gonna cost me $200, an enclosure probably 60-80.: I can't help you on the quality of the speakers. But if you put in speakers that can not handle all the power the amp can put out be care full not to turn the radio up all the way. just because the amp is rated at that power rating it is only putting that out at full power or before distortion ruins the sound quality reproduction of the speakers. do no thry to put a potenetionmeter (variable resistor) in series with the speakers, you'll change the resistance and mess up the balance of the resistance of the circuit.

Q: 95 v6 3.8 5 speed lost a lot of power and acceleration pulled codes and I have a bad 02 sensor misfire on bank one and Maybe a vacuum leak if I remember correctly but I just replaced the plugs and wires and it's still running bad also it rattles when I crank it up and sometimes at idle. I want my car back! Could it be the o2 sensor or fuel pump maybe?: 02 sensor will not cause a misfire, 02 sensor can cause car to burn rich or lean thats it, but most likely you have a bad plug or plug wire. It happens from time to time so pull the plug wires off one at a time. Here is the bet thing to do, while the engine is cold pull the plug wires so that you can move them on or off of the plug then start the engine and use a spark plug wire holder to move the boot off of the spark plug on each plug on the #1 bank when you find the plug that does not change how the motor runs you have found the cylinder thats mis fireing now once you find the right cylinder replace the plug then the wire, if you have two cylinders misfiring then you have crossed two wires going to the plugs and will need to find out which two you crossed. The 02 sensor would show as not working cause you have to cylinders not firring and the 02 sensor can't adjust the computer to lean out the fuel enough so it throws a code for the 02 sensor. With student loans, they can come after you for a lifetime.

Q: I am looking for a meter to measure true power. Many meters claim to measure active power, is this the same value?: there are 3 different types of power. Real, reactive and aparent power. Real power is known as Watts, reactive as VAR, and aparent as VA. True power is Watts. True power is the electricty that does the work. I've not heard of active power. you might be thinking of RE-active power. When you use your multimeter to measure ANY type of power it is always aparent power, known as VA. (volt amps) All multimeters measure Aparent power. They cannot measure just Real or just reactive. You would need a Watt meter to measure that. You can calculate one uknown if you know the other 2, its known as the power triangle. So if you know Watts and you measure your VA with a multimeter you can figure out reactive power, VAR. I know its confusing. In short. When a meter says it measure true power or RMS power its really measuring apartent power, period. In order to measure just Real/true power you need a Wattmeter.
