- Q: Want to ask the new car in the run-in time when the need to add additives? My car is Lion 2.5I, the oil is already plus 97, but also need to add additives? Do you need to add your refueling? Also ask, will the additive increase fuel consumption? Thank you for your guidance. Please thank you all
- New cars do not have to add any fuel additives.
- Q: What are the oil additives?
- Dispersant A chemical that allows solid contaminants to be suspended in the colloidal state to prevent sludge, paint, and sludge from depositing substances on the engine parts. Dispersants are usually non-metallic (ashless) and are generally used in combination with detergents. Such as: T154A polyisobutenyl succinimide, T154B boronized polyisobutenyl succinimide, T161A high molecular weight polyisobutenyl succinimide, T161B boronated high molecular weight polyisobutenyl succinimide, T151A polyisobutenyl succinimide, T164A high molecular weight polyisobutenyl succinimide, T165A high molecular weight polyisobutenyl succinimide.
- Q: I always see the fuel additives at the gas station. Do they really work to help keep your fuel injection working properly?
- Here is the low down on fuel additives. Gas mileage improvers rarely even increase gas mileage enough break even for the cost of the bottle. Only proven non driving habit way of improving gas mileage is using higher grade gasoline. Octane boosters do not improve horsepower noticebly, it would take about 30 bottles to get 10-15 horsepower. All they are is watered down jet fuel. Fuel system cleaners are the only worth while additive. You should clean you injectors every 5-8 thousand miles. Also use a full fuel sytem cleaner every 10-15 thousand miles. If you do this regularly you will never notice any improvement from using it, but your engine will last longer. I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer V8 that I drag race every other weekend and track race every 2 months. This vehicle is my daily driver also, it has 80,000 miles on it and still dynos as good as it did when I acquired it 2 years ago. So yes is the answer to your question, 8 bucks every 10,000 miles is very worth your while.
- Q: so i guess we learned this when i was sick at schoolits due tomorrow and if i dont finish this ill drop from a b to a D. so i reallly need help.so it says; Find the additive inverse of each polynomial.and the examples are: Sample 1: 6y-3z Solution: -6y+3zSample 2: -a?-2ab+3b?Solution: a?-2ab+3b?i DONT UNDERSTAND THIShow do they get the answer?could you do this problem for me and explain how you did it? : 2a+9b 4xy?+6x?y-y?PLEASEthis depends on my grade for this semester.
- The first example makes sense. You add the two and you get 0. Do you have the signs right in the second solution? 2a+9b -2a-9b Add them and you get 0 4xy^2+6x^2y-y^3 -4xy^2-6x^2y+y^3 It's a matter of changing the signs and adding. The additive inverse is what's added that will give 0, the identity for addition.
- Q: I have a 1995 525 bmw with 180 thousand miles and as you can imagine it needs some help. I t runs good never gave me any mayor problems , but recently it takes more gas, and it pulls a little when in the freeway. I relly thank you for your answers . if I go to the shop and they see a woman mm, immediately the charges double.
- Well Lili let me start by saying there are no miracle additives out there. Additives are only good for the manufacturer that makes them and the store that sells them. There could be a number of reasons your 525 is using more fuel. It needs to be corrected and not hidden with additives. If it is pulling while it is being driven on the freeway, you can also be assured it is wearing out your tires at an incredible rate. This too needs to be corrected. Something is bent, loose, or out of adjustment causing the pull. Now let me address the third part of your question where you feel you may be taken advantage of when having your car repaired. This is a reasonable fear but not an accurate one. Women are difficult to try to take advantage of and let me explain why. Women, in most cases, are in charge of the family finances. They want to know where their dollar is going and what they are getting in return. I have noticed a trend in the last few years where women are also taking control of getting the vehicles serviced. And they ask questions. They ask what kind of repair are they getting for their dollar? What caused the failure anyway? What kind of warranty will they get with their repair? How can they prevent this kind of failure in the future? When women ask these kinds of questions and take notes, it can be very intimidating to a shop owner. This is NOT a woman to take advantage of. This woman is serious about quality service for the money. Women are also good at keeping receipts and paper work. Ask a man where the receipt is for his last auto service. Chances are you will hear this answerUh I don't know. I will see if I can find it" This is a guy that would be easy to take advantage of. He doesn't have a clue. Ask a woman for a receipt and she will provide them going back to the beginning of time.
- Q: I know they have scented additives that make exhaust smell like cherries and fruits but do they have any for coloring?
- NO. However, high quality lubricants in engine, trans and dif might help. Good tune up and, if your mechanically inclined, hydrogen injection, will make a difference.
- Q: Hi, I wonder if Lucas Additive are very good for Mercedes-Benz since their reputation not only for racing but for keeping car longer ( Long Life ) ?and the KN Air filter or Cold air Intake is it good or can damage the engine because of the oil inside the filter, I don‘t want to race with a Mercedes but sometimes I like the Sound of Aggressivity ] ( Vr00m Vr00m )
- The additives were always more marketing than engineering. Like racing drivers use it or keeps the F1 engines running longer. Perhaps, but there's not enough evidence that support it. I'd also leave the intake as it is - the problem with the washable filters is not the oil in them but the so called filtration class. And lower filtration class will just let the dust particles into the engine with all consequences.
- Q: What is the additive component is used to replace tetraethyl lead (TEL)?
- Tetraethyl Lead Additive
- Q: As part of my science coursework, I have to find arguments FOR the use of additives in food and arguments AGAINST. I have already found arguments against, so what I am looking for now is arguments for the use of additives and ways in which they are good.Your answers would be very helpful to me.Also, if you know any websites which give advantages of food additives and arguments FOR them, just give me the link/s. Thank you.
- WOW that should'nt have happened just by jacking it up! If it's an 05 then it is under warranty i would think.
- Q: What does it mean when you have a dilution problem whos volumes are additive? For instance, What is the concentration (Molarity) of the solution made by diluting 25.0 mL of 3.00 M HCl with 75.0 mL of water? (Assuming that volumes are additive.)I know that this is an M1V1 M2V2 problem, but does this mean that the volumes must be added, or that they have already been added and I can proceed with the problem?
- The phrase assume volumes are additive means that the problem wants you to assume that when you add 75ml water to 25ml 3M HCl you end up with 100ml of solution. This may seem silly, but in reality, you will probably end up with some volume less than 100 (albeit a very small amount less) since the HCl in solution affects the density and will result in a slightly different volume. The qualifying phrase simplifies the math for the problem. If you use your equation M1V1 M2V2, M1 3, V1 25. V2 100, and solve for M2.
