- Q: Like in the piercing shops, they pierce it with the needle and the plastic tube thingy... Then they take the needle out and leave the hollow plastic tube in the put the lip ring..,... I was wondering where can I buy that?
- The needles are generally soldered by the piercer and the tube is special order. There is a reason that you have to be licensed to be a piercer you know, things like infection, sterilization, and laws

- I pressure tested plastic tubing to failure a few times. Poly tube in 1 ips burst at 400 psi consistently at room temperature. 1/4 cts will burst at a higher pressure, but will fail earlier if exposed to higher temperatures.

- I guess you will use the drain plug next time. You should be OK if you push it down into the pan as there is a screen on most oil pickups. It may even come out in your next oil change if it is small enough.

- If the tube shrinks, water must be going out of the tube, and this must be occurring because there is a concentration gradient across the tubing. However, both sides start with distilled water, so the water on both sides should have the same (low) amount of dissolved substances. Presumably the shrinkage is occurring over a period of hours or days? My guess would be that something is getting into the water in the cup - this could be dissolved matter from floating dust or bacteria, but more likely are gases from the air. Distilling water would degas it - oxygen, nitrogen, and CO2 would be removed. However, these gases, most significantly CO2, will redissolve in the water if it is left in air (carbon dioxide dissolves to make a solution of carbonic acid). In addition, any contaminants that persisted through the distillation would be concentrated when the cup water evaporates, though this is likely to be a small change due to the high purity of distilled water. You are correct about your second question.
- Q: I was trying to remove a little transmission fluid from my dodge intrepid with 3 plastic straws stuck together, and one of them got disconnected and stuck in the filler tube. I tried removing it but just ended up getting it stuck furthur. Should i take my car to a mechanic and have the tranny pan dropped to remove the straw? Will it do any damage driving it to the shop?
- I would just leave it. I doubt it will cause a problem. Someday, you should have your transmission fluid changed after many miles. Just have them take it out then.

- Q: So I was wondering how much some plastic tubes (decent size) would cost if I wanted to get it from a dollar store, I'm thinking they're around $3 but I'm not sure. I just need to know so I can think of the colours I can get before I go get some paints. Thanks.
- they might be a little more than 3, but I suggest going to acmoore and getting good quality onces for a couple dollars more. You don't even need specific colors; just red white yellow blue and black; then you can mix it for the colors you like ;)

- Don't worry. As long as he comes out, you know there must be enough air in his tubes. But seriously don't worry. He probabLy just hasn't found that nesting place yet, he will find one within the next couple weeks. And maybe it's a comforting place for him, a place where he feels safe. But if you want him to come out more often, try giving him some treats. Basically, use treats as a sign that he can feel safe outside the tube too. Hope this helps!
