The ideal gas law says that as temperature decreases either volume or pressure decreases. The volume in a tire is fixed (approximately) thus the pressure decreases with changes in temperature. I commend you check your tire pressure regularly and adjust them as temperature changes. Tires work and wear best if they are adjusted to the recommended tire pressure by the manufacturer. I just completed that task on my vehicles this morning since it has turned colder in the last couple of days. Had to add air to all of them to compensate for the change. In the spring, will have to let some air out as temperatures warm back up. Not sure why not all the tires were affected. Could be that the tire pressure was not equal in all of them to begin with. I couldn't afford it but did spend extra for a highly accurate tire pressure gauge and haven't seen that problem since. I believe that tire pressures are to be measured at cold (meaning ambient) temperatures rather than warming them up.
