- Q: and implied powers of the government?thank you.
- The expressed powers of Congress are listed in the Constitution. Congress also has implied powers, to make any laws that are necessary and proper to carry out those expressed powers. 1789 The Constitution gives expressed powers to Congress in Article 1, Section 8. 1819 In McCulloch v. Maryland, the Supreme Court holds that the powers to tax, borrow, and regulate commerce give Congress the implied power to establish a national bank.
- Q: I owed the bank some money and I tried too direct deposit my tax return into my mothers account. I then found out the back took that money and paid the money back that I owed them. Is that legal?
- If you are not on a joint account with your mother, I would think that it's illegal, as you owe the bank money, not your mom. However, I'm guessing that it is legal since the bank did do it.
- Q: If you had a Special Power, what would it be and why???
- I had and have a special power given by God which I myself came to know only after 32 long years. Because of this power I was facing all sorts of obstacles in all the ways since childhood without knowing the reason. After knowing the truth I was surrounded by evil spirits. Now my life is a torture. As I am living in another country now the torture is under control.
- Q: I received a Judgment against me so I closed all my accounts to protect myself from a possible bank levy. However, I have heard that if I have someone else open an account for me and add myself as the power of attorney, they would be unable to levy my account. Does anyone if this is true?
- sorry, when we receive the levy, we will look for any and all accounts you are a signer on. That will include your POA.
- Q: 10pts to who ever answers best
- State Powers: Issue licenses, ratify amendments, set up local governments, and conduct elections Federal: Print money, declare war, regulate commerce between the states, sign treaties with foreign powers Shared Powers: Setting up courts, taxing, making and enforcing laws, and chartering banks
- Q: i havent a lot of time on my hands with working 12hour days so i was wondering if i can get my husband to go into my bank with my details and cancel a direct debit? thanks.
- no it is not possible
- Q: Does anyone know what the maximum is that a bank can charge for going over your overdraft,???? mine have just charged me ?30 but after threatening them they have refunded it. But they have said that the powers that be have set it at ?30 and they would charge me that next time.
- Banks can charge what ever they want for overdrafts, but they must disclose the amount you will pay for an overdraft up front when opening the account. Most are between $24 and $33 dollars. A local bank in my town is only $22 for an overdraft. Ask your bank about overdraft protection such as tying your savings account to your checking in case you overdraft. This only works if you leave a reasonable balance in your savings account.
- Q: If you sign a Power of Attorney document at the request of a family member .are you then liable for any and all debts should that family member become incapicitated and/no longer have the funds in their bank accounts to pay off any debtors?
- A power of attorney is a document that gives a person the right to act for another person in a legal manner. Say your grandmother, who is collecting a pension, becomes incapacitated and can no longer look after her own affairs. She forgets to pay the bills, and creditors are calling. The decision iseither put her in a home, let her live with you, or, allow her to live in her own home with in-home care. Well, if you choose option 3, then you'd also have to get a power of attorneythat SHE signs, giving YOU the right to choose her care giver, pay her bills, etc. ButYou would pay the bills using HER money. You would be liable IF you used her money for YOURSELF, and neglected to pay her bills Now, if the family member has no money, and you know thatthen thats different.I'm not sure there. You may want to check with an attorney before signing.
- Q: i was wondering if an example of concurrent power would be to charter banks?
- No, don't think so. The two are somewhat related and do meet at times but the relation is more complex
