And how come you can use the in-built phones on planes?: Mythbusters is not a certified testing facility. The people who tell you they don't interfere do not know what they are talking about. I've actually seen it. I had someone with a phone on during taxi, and it buzzed in my headset. It also made the ILS needles erratic, which is very dangerous. You see, cellphones are not built to TSO certification, which is what things designed to be in aircraft are. Two cellphones of the same exact model could potentially have one interfere and the other one not. So, testing one may work fine, but another one might not. There is no way to test all of them. For the people who use them in their corporate jets, good luck to you. I hope you don't crash into a mountain because of it. It's still illegal, under FCC rules. If you are so rich, why not buy a phone made for your jet? I'm glad I don't have to fly those guys around.

Q: Firstly how come a mobile phone gets 'locked'?What does it mean?: Every mobile phone is locked when it is purchased new, say that it was purchased with a Vodaphone sim card in it it is locked to Vodafone, you can get it unlocked (meaning that you could use any simcard eg. TMobile, O2, Orange etc. You can ge this done by the network itself in a shop or search for the unlock code on the internet.

Straight Talk will not accept a Boost Mobile phone, period. 2.) Boost Mobile phones are not compatible with Straight Talk's GSM SIM cards. 3.) Boost Mobile phones with SIM card slots are either iDEN (which will not work with a GSM SIM card), or are locked from being used outside of Boost Mobile.

Q: Hey, I'm having a problem with my new cell phone. I just got it a few days ago, it's a Virgin Mobile TNT model, also known as Kyocera Adreno S2400. The screen has gone black. The battery is fully charged, and the phone actually seems to still be on, since it's making sounds upon opening and closing. Hitting/holding the end button to turn it on or off produces no response. So basically right now, rather than having a cell phone I have a little box that makes noises when I open and close it. I've tried the Virgin Mobile website, but they don't really have a troubleshooting section. Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how I could fix it?: I also have the TNT, and actually had the exact same thing happen a couple weeks ago. I decided to hold the power button in for a few seconds so it would shut off (yes, I know it's hard to tell because the screen is black). I waited a few minutes and turned it back on and it was fine. If this doesn't work, try removing the battery and putting it back in. Also, I know through the Virgin Mobile website and most stores you buy the phones at, have a 30 day guarantee, so if all else fails, return the phone.
