- whether you have a pure breed or in your case a mutt mix breed, is indifferent, just go to petco and get the one you like most. i prefer wooden basket types beds with a pillow inside, that way i just clean the pillow case.

- You need to purchase deep pocket sheets to cover your mattress. Your new mattress needs to have the support of the box spring, or you take the chance of ruining the mattress. (The exception would be if you were putting the mattress directly on the floor, or had a box bed, in which case the box acts as the box spring). Not to mention, that not using a box spring may void out any warranty that came along with the purchase of the new bed. I'd check with the place that you purchased the bed from. Best of luck.

- Of course she can be on your bed (your dog, your home, your rules), but she shouldn't for your own health and safety. Why? Because all dogs lick their butts and crotch area. And the butt can generally be full of germs, bacteria and even worm eggs (if your dog has worms right now). So when your dog licks her butt and then licks her body and your sheets or your hand and you roll around on your sheets in your bed, you might be drooling, have your mouth open etc. I would deworm my dog and then let her on the bed after she comes back negative for parasites - why risk getting worms yourself?
