Q: I have a metro pcs phone but like virgin mobile service better: No, it cannot. Even if you completely flash and reprogram it to Virgin Mobile, Virgin Mobile will not allow you to activate it. I have tried using non-Virgin Mobile phones on Virgin Mobile, and they always tell me that they simply cannot activate an ESN that their system does not recognize as a Virgin Mobile phone. There are ways to change your ESN to that of a Virgin Mobile phone, but they are illegal. Don't do it. Just buy a Virgin Mobile phone, they're not very expensive. Maybe you can post on craigslist that you need a Virgin Mobile phone and someone will trade you phones. Sorry for the bad news!

You will not be able to use other data services such as the browser, mms or IM since T-Mobile phones are set up where the data settings cannot be altered at all. ATT will be able to tell that you are using a non-ATT branded phone but so long as it doesn't negatively affect their network they won't have a problem, just don't expect to get any device support since they don't have any information on this phone.
