- Q:a friend from school is going to give me her phone (lg rumour) there is no phone number on it and she hasn't used it since the summer time. for me to activate it, do i just go to a virgin mobile store and say that i want to activate the phone?i also want to get unlimited texting on the phone aswell. (its a prepaid phone) how do i go through with this. plus, anything else that i should know?
- If the phone is inactive right now, you can go into a Virgin Mobile store and ask to activate it. Except since it has no phone number, that might be kinda hard. For unlimited texting, I have a $25 plan that gives 300 minutes, and unlimited texting and web. While you're at the store, they can probably start you on that plan. Or you can go into your messaging settings under Balance Usage and change it from there.

- Either get a brand new phone. Or a brand new sim card. or hopefully, a brand new phone AND a brand new sim card. If after 4 months you're still having this problem, it's time to replace the phone. If it still happens, then replace the sim card.

- Yep, will work. I did the same with my three-band mobile phone from the states. I also bought it from T-mobile. I am German and was in the states for some time, loved my phone and took it back home, put my old sim-card in from my prepaid phone -works! No problem, other than the language I have on my phone is English now, and T9 for texting won't work with texts in German, as the vocabulary I would need to teach my phone exceeds the capacity. So I type my texts manually. But what the heck. Phone works.
