- it depends how long the phone has been out on the market, those that have been out a while can be for free when the more new versions or brand new phones -- you would have to pay full price for it unless you upgrade your contract then they give you a discount or mail in rebate

- The first one is the company asking you to acknowledge that you did in fact order a phone. The second one is probably the phone is being held up waiting for the acknowledgment letter to return. Is probably standard practice for some companies to do this. It's actually for your safety as much as theirs (making sure someone else isn't ordering a phone on/with your name).

It is to the point now where at least twice daily it will completely lock until I take out the battery and replace it. I've had so many other issues with this phone regarding battery life and now this freezing issue, that I really don't want another Optimus. If you are pursuing the warranty replacement route, then you are stuck with another Optimus V, and they do not offer discounts on replacement phones. I would agree that the Optimus V is not a good phone, but when you look at how cheap that Virgim Mobile is, you can see how they cannot offer higher quality phones (basically it will be costly enough that it will cost them customers, as they typically want things on the cheap.). At least the phones that Virgin Mobile offers are better quality than those that Straight Talk offers (around 1 in 5 Straight Talk phones are defective).
