1,Cast Iron Manhole Cover Description :

manhole cover is a removable plate forming the lid over the opening of a manhole, to prevent anyone or anything from falling in, and to keep out unauthorized persons and material.

Manhole covers are often made out of cast iron, concrete or a combination of the two. This makes them inexpensive, strong, and heavy, usually weighing more than 50 kilograms (110 lb). The weight helps to keep them in place when traffic passes over them, and makes it difficult for unauthorised people not having suitable tools to remove them.

A manhole cover sits on metal base, with a smaller inset rim which fits the cover. The base and cover are sometimes called "castings", because they are usually made by a casting process, typically sand-casting techniques.

4FAQ:

We have organized several common questions for our clientsmay help you sincerely

Q. Can I fit a square manhole cover into a round chamber?

A. Yes, there are a select few manhole covers which are square-to-round, meaning they will fit square or round chambers.

Q. I have a heavy traffic manhole cover but it has been broken by a forklift, why?

A. Forklifts have solid wheels which apply pressure differently to standard pneumatics and therefore covers must be specially adapted to suit this.

Q. I’ve measured my clear opening size but none of your covers match it, can you offer anything?

A. It’s likely that your cover is quite old and in imperial measurements which are no longer manufactured. However, we can offer bespoke solutions with manhole covers made to the specification you require.

Q. The project I’m working on requires a manhole cover with a quality finish, what’s available?

A. Naturally, galvanised steel of black polypropylene aren’t always ideal, and so we offer brass or stainless steel edging, as well as complete stainless steel covers.

Q. Odours are coming through where I have installed my manhole cover, why?

A. Your cover must be sealed and locked, or neoprene sealed, so you would require a T-Range Cover, or if you require a solid top, a selection of the PC range (e.g. PC2BG3, PC6CG3, not PC2BG) are suitable.

Q. I need access through my manhole cover on a regular basis, is this possible?

A. Yes, the majority of covers have built-in lifting keys, and for those that don’t we also supply lifting keys. However, the best way to obtain easy access is to have a bespoke, hinged manhole cover.

Q: anyone listen to good metal/death metal/grindcore?
Municipal Waste Toxic Holocaust Suicidal Tendencies D.R.I. Megadeth Metallica Napalm Death Exodus Slayer Motorhead
Q: Hey all,Just got Metal Gear Solid The Lecagy Collection for PS3. Disc one has one game on it: MGS4. Disc 2 is supposed to have all the other MG games, including the original. When I start it up however, it only gives me the option of MGS2, 3, and Guns Of The Patriots. Any idea how to access the original Metal Gear game, plus the other titles listed on the back cover? Thanks!
That is not completely true. It's very possible to be metalcore and not be metal. There is a distinction between bands in the metalcore genre: Hardcore punk with minimal metal influence (who aren't metal) and Metal bands with minimal to slight hardcore influence (who are metal whether people like it or not). BMTH is deathcore which falls under the is metal part, but they don't really do that good of a job. A7X has always fallen under the sect of metalcore bands that are hardcore punk with a slight metal influence (their riffing style, drumming, and dual soloing and harmonization is very reminiscent of Gothenburg death metal, where much of metalcore gets their sound), and have been hard rock since City of Evil.
Q: metals like silver or copper
Posted in the wrong place because of the word 'metal' in the question - needs to be put in music area. And my experience is that playing metal strings vs nylon is mostly a matter of a different sound, not a different technique, although some techniques sound better on the metal. Of course, if you mean like heavy metal music that is a whole nother (disgusting) bag.
Q: Can battery acid from just a plain old battery melt through metal?
Deranged Vomitory Aeon Monstrosity Malevolent Creation Insision Brutality Broken Hope Sinister Demilich Blood Red Throne Jasad Brodequin Avulsed Benighted Vader Immolation Severe Torture
Q: Ok do you like heavy metal(+) or pop(-). And what artist do you like the most?
Perfectly normal. If you stop and think about it, the members of the original thrash metal bands of the 80's are pushing 50 and still going strong. A lot of their fans are the same age. The members of Lamb of God are all in their 40s (their bass player has a full head of white hair even). The original members of Black Sabbath are all in their mid 60s and they STILL show up bands a third their age. I'm 33 and I still love metal as well. It's all I would listen to as a teenager. As I got older I discovered other kinds of music I liked, but I never stopped liking metal just because I started liking other things too. Liking metal has nothing to do with how old you are. It's something you either like or you don't. No REAL metal fan will ever grow out of loving metal music. Like me, they may find other types of music they enjoy along the way, but I guarantee there will always be metal in their album collection until they day they die.
Q: I heard a story some time ago about a TRANSPARENT metal (metal that passes light). That seems very avant-garde. Anyone knows what's the status? Research? Can I buy some?
People who say metallica, yes they were VERY influential, the core of modern metal. But if you take all of the major popular metal TODAY, nu-metal, metalcore, melodic metalcore, hxc etc, korn, lamb of god, august burns red, bullet for my valentine etc. two bands alone helped spur this new pop/crap genre of metal. IN FLAMES and PANTERA In Pantera's 1990 Cowboys From Hell, vinnie and dimebag introduced the forst hardcore breakdown, a slowed part of the song with crazy drums, chugging guitar and simplistic vocals, all played at half-time. This was Prime material for moshing to, and was copied by 1000's. In Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power, they taught many artists how to be heavy without being metal. Even Korn cited his as the bse for all of the heavier nu-metal. (coal chamber, anyone?) In Flames was an easy melodeath band to copy from, especially their riffs. Many melodic metalcore bands took In Flames style riffs, cut out the solos, and added a hardcore breakdown. The solos they do have are freaking weird, but that is less common anyway. The vocals are not like pantera nor in flames.
Q: Don't worry if you get mixed up a bit with your sub categories. Sometimes it's not always clear-cut and hard to define.Example Mine...Followed by your favorite album if you wish.Death Metal - Death - SymbolicBlack Metal - Absu - Occult...Melodic Death/Black - Dark Tranquillity - The Mind's iViking/Folk Metal - Amon Amarth - Vs the WorldThrash Metal - Megadeth count? if not Overkill - Rust In PeaceHeavy Metal (pre 80s) - Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody SabbathHair Metal - ??? (none)Power Metal - Dragonforce (although I don't like powermetal) Does Iron Maiden count?Stoner/Sludge Metal - The Melvins - A Senile AnimalProgressive Metal or anything Progressive - Opeth - Blackwater ParkFeel free to add a new category.
Noble metals are metals that are resistant to corrosion or oxidation, unlike most base metals. They tend to be precious metals, often due to perceived rarity. Examples include gold, silver, tantalum, platinum, and rhodium.
Q: How are some metals shiny and some dull?
For the metal-to-metal coefficient of static friction, it depends a lot on the composition of the different metals, their surface finish, and the amount and composition of any lubricant or surface contaminant. Ditto for leather on metal. As a rule, for clean, smooth metal-to-metal surfaces, dissimilar metals tend to give lower values for static friction than two surfaces of the same metal that would have a tendency to stick to each other (i.e., seize) and refuse to slide at all. This is especially true if one of the metals is very hard and the other is relatively soft, which is one reason why sleeve bearings are made of relatively soft stuff. It also helps if the surfaces are smooth but not too smooth. Minimum values you can expect for the coefficient of static friction would be in the range of 0.1. From a theoretical standpoint, leather on metal is even more complicated than metal on metal because the leather is a chemically and structurally complex mix of substances that can be expected to change with age, usage, and environment. That said, the tables in the reference will give you some idea what to expect.
