1,Cast Iron Manhole Cover Description :
A manhole cover is a removable plate forming the lid over the opening of a manhole, to prevent anyone or anything from falling in, and to keep out unauthorized persons and material.
Manhole covers are often made out of cast iron, concrete or a combination of the two. This makes them inexpensive, strong, and heavy, usually weighing more than 50 kilograms (110 lb). The weight helps to keep them in place when traffic passes over them, and makes it difficult for unauthorised people not having suitable tools to remove them.
A manhole cover sits on metal base, with a smaller inset rim which fits the cover. The base and cover are sometimes called "castings", because they are usually made by a casting process, typically sand-casting techniques.

5,FAQ:
We have organized several common questions for our clients, may help you sincerely:
Q. Can I fit a square manhole cover into a round chamber?
A. Yes, there are a select few manhole covers which are square-to-round, meaning they will fit square or round chambers.
Q. I have a heavy traffic manhole cover but it has been broken by a forklift, why?
A. Forklifts have solid wheels which apply pressure differently to standard pneumatics and therefore covers must be specially adapted to suit this.
Q. I’ve measured my clear opening size but none of your covers match it, can you offer anything?
A. It’s likely that your cover is quite old and in imperial measurements which are no longer manufactured. However, we can offer bespoke solutions with manhole covers made to the specification you require.
Q. The project I’m working on requires a manhole cover with a quality finish, what’s available?
A. Naturally, galvanised steel of black polypropylene aren’t always ideal, and so we offer brass or stainless steel edging, as well as complete stainless steel covers.
Q. Odours are coming through where I have installed my manhole cover, why?
A. Your cover must be sealed and locked, or neoprene sealed, so you would require a T-Range Cover, or if you require a solid top, a selection of the PC range (e.g. PC2BG3, PC6CG3, not PC2BG) are suitable.
Q. I need access through my manhole cover on a regular basis, is this possible?
A. Yes, the majority of covers have built-in lifting keys, and for those that don’t we also supply lifting keys. However, the best way to obtain easy access is to have a bespoke, hinged manhole cover.
- Q: I despised metal when i was younger (I grew up listening to lots of different sh*t) but now I find myself loving alot of metal-core bands. Can anyone suggest any good metal/melodic metal bands? I'm not really into the cookie monster vocals, but I can get past that if the musicanship is good.To give you an idea on my taste I like Lamb of God, Hatebreed, Killswitch Engage, Norma Jean, Shadows Fall and Mastadon. Thanks
- Death Metal is extremely aggressive and heavy, Thrash is aggressive and heavy. From your description of Crossover, it sounds to me like Thrash (thrash is a mix of hardcore punk and metal). Metal is a generalisation for Heavy Metal in general - whether it be Thrash, Death, Black, New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Power Metal, and (arguably) Nu-Metal and Metalcore.
- Q: why does metal feel colder than wood in low temperatures but hotter than wood in high temperatures?
- best for what? Rhodium seems to be the most expensive metal, Carbon steel is the hardest, The heaviest metals are Osmium and Indium. It really depends what quality you are looking for if you are looking for the best An axe made out of pure gold would not be very useful to chop down a tree and make firewood. It's too soft.
- Q: I love metal music. Absolutely am amazed by the greatness almost every genre puts out. But truthfully I can't STAND black metal they paint a horrible picture on metal as a whole in my opinion. I cant tell you how many people think the entire music genre and its sub genres are all devilish. Not only can I not stand all their anti Christian devil worshiping themes. But their screeching is dreadful in my opinion. My favorite subgenre personally is Melodic Death Metal. But I can't stand Black. What genre do you guys dislike the most?
- metal, no questions asked. pop has too many people with minimal talent (hence the invention of auto tune!) and most of the lyrics have no meaning that i'm interested in or can relate to. most of the metal bands out there are extremely talented, and their lyrics are really good as well.
- Q: I was doing some research on these two genres and got a bit confused. I read that Power Metal has a combination of Speed metal with other subgenres of metal but I got lost in that part...so which are the other subgenres?
- That really depends on the wavelength you are interested in. Different metals absorb different frequencies to different extents. That is also the reason why they all look slightly different and why some like copper and gold look very different. The alkali metal sodium, for example, is transparent to UV light, so it does not reflect that at all.
- Q: I was pretty sure that metal is referring to music from heavy metal bands like AC/DC, KISS, Judas Priest, Metallica, maybe even Led Zeppelin. But now I'm hearing all of these lesser new bands calling their music metal and it is not at all the same.It irritates me, so I'm wondering if I have the wrong definition all together, or if this new music is just trying to latch on to older and better bands. Thanks
- No, they're not. I see no resemblance between Venom and black metal. Their style of music was closer to thrash metal and heavy metal than anything else. They had a album titled 'Black Metal' but that doesn't really mean anything, it's just that they were popular around the time black metal was getting into the scene, so they would be considered some kind of pioneers of the black metal sub-genre. As Metal Injection article claims: ''Their album 'Black Metal' gave birth to a sub-genre unlike the world has ever known before. Although the music style of the LP remains more reminiscent of thrash, the lyrics and imagery associated with the record turned out to be the single biggest influence in spawning the early Norwegian Black Metal scene nearly 10 years later.'' Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal and Emperor cite Venom as true originators of the black metal message. Still, I don't think this is the reason to call them black metal because they sound nothing like it, and let's be honest; black metal is mostly characterized by its screamed, harsh vocals and raw guitar riffs. Venom doesn't have these aspects within their music. Some people consider them to be black metal which is just pathetic. Just because they influenced the sub-genre, it doesn't mean they belong to it. Musically and lyrically, they may have had some influence on black metal, but I still wouldn't consider them to be black metal. To add, the vocals are certainly NOT black metal. Cronos uses thrash type of vocals, not screamed and harsh black metal vocals. I think that bands like Bathory and Celtic Frost had a far greater influence on black metal than Venom ever did.
- Q: I've been wondering, what came first? The song quot;Metal Militiaquot; by Metallica, or the brand Metal Militia? And is Metal Militia a Metallica owned brand?
- Anorexia Nervosa - Nihilism and abusive lyrics (to woman) Antestor Blut Aus Nord - Odinist (neo-viking mythology) Catamenia - I have not found anything Satanic yet, but still looking Crimson moonlight Crimson Thorn - more Death Metal than Black Metal Melechesh - Sumerian Slechtvalk The best thing I would recommend is to research the lyrics on the internet. That is the best way to know.
- Q: yes im asking this because there are so many like metal, clash metal, goth, black, and hardcore which sounds the same has metal...i know you all are going to commit on that but yes what are the difference that i am not seeing in the music can any one clarify this for me please and if you can list all the types of metal
- My awesome one is the following: Facebolt: Aries Energy RIng: Aries Fusion Wheel: Earth Spin Track: GB145 (Gravity ball) Perfomance Tip: D (Defense)
- Q: I always see people into heavy or black metal... Did thrash metal die?
- You know the way that a car battery works? What you do there is that you draw electrons from metals to have be drawn through the circuit ionizing the metals and vice versa when recharging the battery. Now as compared to the other metals gold is less generous when it comes to giving off electrons as compared to the other metals so when you are doing the same as in a battery to that of whatever compound contains all of above mentioned metals you will have gold the last remaining nonionized metal. Just pour in any chloride solution or any halide and you will soak up the other metals. Rinse and repeat til you have only gold left. Easy as pie!
- Q: like table 13-16 but do you count the metals AND metalloids ?
- I usually take wiki with a grain of salt. Not everything they write is gospel and usually edited by people around the internet who are just as clueless as you guys.
- Q: its just so good! Death metal rules!
- Progressive, but really depends on the band. Symphonic. Power. Heavy Metal. Thrash, Industrial and Sludge use what I call aggressive/harsh vocals - clean but shouting a lot. MDM and Metalcore often use a mix of clean and screams. Nu Metal use clean, aggressive, screams, growls and rapping. Post-Grunge and Alternative Metal. Doom Metal, again depends on the band. Bands with clean vocals from each genre I mentioned; Dream Theatre After Forever Blind Guardian Led Zeppelin Metallica Ministry Mastodon In Flames Bullet for My Valentine Sevendust Alter Bridge A Perfect Circle Paradise Lost
