- Q: I'm trying to wire up a dual display pyrometer as an exhaust gas temperature (EGT) gauge. It needs to meter 1200F (~600C) to about 2000F (~1100C) and be able to be permanently attached to the exhaust.
- Just dry fit everything first. Get the pipe up to about where you want your hole and mark where it terminates. Now drill your hole and make sure everything lines up. Once it all fits mark the pipes and fittings with marker. Now when you glue just line up the markings and you should be good. That pipe is easy to work with.

- The Spire Kelper will be the best of the two. It has more heat pipes and a larger heat-sink. I would recommend swapping out the fan, as the stock one isn't that great. If you aren't to worried about looks, there are some great fans for cheap prices. They don't look to pretty, but they get the job done. Noctua fans are a good example of this.

- You can fill the strike in the door jamb. If the hole in the strike plate that is in the door jamb is filled to the top, level, the latch wont engage.The handle will still feel locked, but a push on the door will open it. You could cut some hard cardboard sheets the size of the hole, use whit glue and stack them up until the hole is filled. Then lock the lock and shut the door. If you filled the hole all the way the door should just push open. Also you can try duct tape to cover the hole, but it would be more noticeable.

- Are you familiar with any type of soldering? There is low temp, and high temp, depending on the application, and the type of solder that you use. The most important thing to remember, is to thoroughly clean the inside of the fittings, and the end of the pipe. If you cut a pipe, make sure that you ream the inside, to restore the inner diameter of the pipe to its full bore dimension, otherwise, water will eat the pipes, from the inside, and you will have a premature breakdown in your piping system. A non acid, water soluble flux is required, again, so your pipes won't deteriorate from the inside. Low temp soldering can use a propane torch, but high temp, requires a hotter flame, to melt the solder. Practice on some pipes, before soldering for real. Never leave your flame in one spot too long. Doing so will cause the flux to be burned at that spot, and no solder will take at that spot, thus, ensuring a leak. Move your flame around the whole joint, heating it up uniformly, and concentrate your flame towards the center of the fitting, as solder will travel towards the heat. Good luck!

Ms lil bed rock is spot on in saying cpvc is totally diff. Different primer(usually clear) diff glue (orange). Set time for cpvc also tkes longer before H2O pressure can be applied
