- There are arguments on both sides, I personally know 2 people who have been injured by bats, one metal, one wood. In the case of the wooden bat, the batter hit the ball on an inside pitch, breaking the bat into splinters which caught the pitcher in the head. He needed 34 stitches. In the case of the metal bat, a batted ball was hit foul and struck a player in the dugout (didn't have fences) on the elbow and broke it. My opinion is that Metal bats should be allowed for ages under 16. In leagues 16 - 18 (Sr. Babe Ruth, High School, American Legion) it should be the league's decision. Any league 18+ (when most men are hitting their physical peaks) should be required to use wooden bats. I think also that the on-deck batter's circle should be protected by a fence.

- The problem with nu-metal is that it abandoned everything that made metal great. Good musicianship was sight unseen with Nu-metal. It always just came off as tripe to anybody who was into metal before it. Thankfully metal, especially the stuff coming out of Europe, has stayed on track. Now if modern American bands would realize you don't need to tune your guitars down to the Brown note to be heavy, we'd be good! @Fear LOL Rage...I remember reading that Tom Morello actually came up with the DJ Guitarist thing when he bought a guitar with a faulty toggle that made a scratchy/squeal noise when he hit it. Just a funny story.

- Well that's different, now there's metal sub-genres. In the 70's-80's there weren't. Seeing as what used to be metal in that time is now considered classic rock, or hard rock at best. The difference is this, listen to Ozzy Osbourne (Love Randy, have his signature guitar), Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, then listen to Lamb Of God, Pantera (Groove metal), or Here Comes The Kraken (Deathcore). Or Opeth for some nice progressive metal.

- Well, that would be hydrogen gas. When a metal reacts with water hydrogen is always produced. Also, depending on the reacting metal a hydroxide or an oxide is produced. When you look at the electrochemical series of metals then the first metals, the active ones (Li - Mg/Al), form a hydroxide when reacting with water. For example: 2Na + 2H2O -> 2NaOH + H2. Metals from Mn to Fe form an oxide (when heated - water must be in a vapourised state). For example: Zn + H2O -> ZnO + H2. Metals starting from Ni don't react with water. I wrote Mg/Al when talking about active metals because normally the surface of aluminium is protected by its oxide and therefore the reaction doesn't take place very easily. However, if the oxide is removed then aluminium and water react very well and produce a hydroxide. I hope that helps! Have a nice day!

- The two methods of enzyme inhibition are: - When the inhibitor competes with the enzyme for the bonding site on the substrate. If the inhibitor gets to the bonding site first, it mimicks the action of the enzyme, and bonds with the substrate, making it inactive. - The other way is when the inhibitor deforms part of the substrate, and bonds with it there. This changes the shape of the bonding site, meaning that the enzyme cannot bond with it, and making the substrate inactive.
