The more experienced ones, started out as oilers or greasers. Some started out as signal persons. They learned by watching and listening. In the following states you must hold National certification: CA, HA,MT,OR,WA,MN,WV,NM,RI,NJ,NV,NY UT. PA and SC have restrictions now but will be added sometime soon. You can attend a crane school that prepares you for the national certification, but it expensive and not easy for someone without a background working around cranes. There is a lot of terminology and mathematics involved. Not to mention the Federal, state, local and OSHA rules you must practice. Go to your state employment office. - There are only two control levers that are on a tower crane.There is one on either side of the seat called joy sticks the right side joy stick controls the hoist cable to go up and down pushed forward to go down and pulled back to hoist up.The left has four functions it controls the swing of the crane and also the boom of the crane to control the swing you push the lever to the left to swing left and push the lever right to swing right.You pull the lever back to boom up and puh it forward to boom down.

- Lol I know what you're coming from. You don't exactly have to get 1000 cranes. Try to roll up as many cranes as you can get (tiny cranes count as well). From the start, don't just roll up cranes. You want to grow your katamari so you would be able to roll around more stuff. If there are small things that ARE NOT cranes and is your katamari size, roll them up. That will make your katamari bigger and allow you to roll up more bigger sized cranes. Since most cranes are bigger than the katamari that you start the level with, roll up random things to make your katamari bigger. The bigger your katamari is, the easier it is to roll up many cranes. I managed to roll up about 600 cranes on my first try (after replaying the game on a new file). Did you unlock the clouds and save the pandas yet? If you did, yo don't have to complete the paper cranes to access those levels. You just need to complete the paper cranes, the clouds and the pandas to unlock more levels.

- Do you remember the formula for determining area? For a flat object (like your paper) the formula is Length X Width = Area. or LW=A So unfold your paper, and measure the length and the width, and simply multiply the two numbers. The resulting number will be your area. Of course, that is the area of the unfolded paper. Your crane in it's folded form will have a much different, and harder to find, surface area value.

- I assume you are talking about a tower crane. From a distance, it looks like a T with one side shorter than the other. First, you need a good foundation for the crane to sit on. Next, you have a large mobile crane. With the mobile crane, you construct the tower (metal framing going up), the cab (where the operator sits and the motors), the boom (the mast out front) and the counter-weights (on the side opposite the boom). For the most part, this will get you a tower crane that will be about 200 feet above the ground. Most tower cranes today are self-jumping. Once you are ready to jump the tower crame (i.e. insert another section of the metal frame) there are hyraulics that lift the boom, cap and counterwieghts. This will create a gap in the metal frame. The tower crane will then pick up a section of frame and hoist it up and the ironworkers will slide it into place. The top section will be lowered down onto the new frame piece. The hydraulic jacks then get re-attached higher up to continue the jumping process. That is how you get a crane to build a 50+ soty building. By the way, once the crane is about 700 feet in the air, (if you have the stomach for it), it is a blast to ride out to the end of the boom.
