Watch how the boss mare in the herd treats the others, they do not ever try to kick her. If they misbehave she comes after them with teeth and heels. Catching him in the fieldGo out to the fielddo nothing. Don't look at him but walk towards him. But do not look at him. Approach from an angle and stop when he starts to move away. Bend over and pretend to be interested in something in the grass. He will soon be dying of curiosity and come to see what you have.
