- Q: what is the difference between additive sculpture and relief sculture?
- It's not either/or, one's a technique, the other is a type of sculpture. Additive means to add (like with water or oil clay), Subtractive means to subtract (like with Marble or Foam). A relief is basically a sculpture you can mount on the wall, like you would a painting, only it's much heavier, obviously. It has one side, usually. Unless ofcourse you use coin money as an example, which are 2-sided reliefs technically. You can use the additive sculpting technique to make a relief (or not), you just have to make a mold most likely. That's why I wanted to clarify that you didn't ask an either/or question.
- Q: Is a polaroid photograph considered additive or subtractive color?
- Photographic prints (including Polaroids) do not emit light. All photographic prints are viewed via reflected light (subtractive color). In other words, the light is reflecting off a surface. Light hits the surface and some photons of particular wavelengths are absorbed by the object (or pigments) while others are reflected - this is what gives a solid object colour. Anything else that shows colour by reflected light is also using subtractive color. That would include any solid (non-transparent) object in the real world too, including paper with ink or paint on it. Computer screens and TVs emit colored light (additive color).
- Q: I always see the fuel additives at the gas station. Do they really work to help keep your fuel injection working properly?
- Some people say NO!, others say YES! I'm inclined to believe they're helpful it you choose the correct one and use it properly. For cleaning fuel injection systems, some can help, yes. It depends on which one you're choosing, however, and how bad [if at all] your fuel-injection system is clogged. Personally, I've gotten good results from Chevron Techron Fuel Additive / Fuel System Cleaner. It's about $6 or $7 a bottle at the auto-parts store, probably more elsewhere, but seems to work very well at smoothing things out. You may not get the same results with the .99 cents STP-type of fuel additive. Just remember to add the stuff *before* you are about to pump gas, and do so only when you're almost to the red on your fuel gauge, and then don't add any more than 8 - 10 gallons of gasoline or you'll dilute it beyond it's effectiveness. As a plus, splurge for the high octane when you do this, which, by design, has much more detergent in it than does low or mid-grade gasoline. I hope that helps ;)
- Q: so i guess we learned this when i was sick at schoolits due tomorrow and if i dont finish this ill drop from a b to a D. so i reallly need help.so it says; Find the additive inverse of each polynomial.and the examples are: Sample 1: 6y-3z Solution: -6y+3zSample 2: -a?-2ab+3b?Solution: a?-2ab+3b?i DONT UNDERSTAND THIShow do they get the answer?could you do this problem for me and explain how you did it? : 2a+9b 4xy?+6x?y-y?PLEASEthis depends on my grade for this semester.
- The first example makes sense. You add the two and you get 0. Do you have the signs right in the second solution? 2a+9b -2a-9b Add them and you get 0 4xy^2+6x^2y-y^3 -4xy^2-6x^2y+y^3 It's a matter of changing the signs and adding. The additive inverse is what's added that will give 0, the identity for addition.
- Q: Why was stevia outlawed as an additive in the US?
- You can buy it as an adjunct or dietary supplement or additive. I understand that because it has some mutagenic properties the USDA will not clear it as an additive. I think it is for some liver function that the USDA is concerned. I use it because it is a sweetener that actually lowers blood glucose. As a diabetic that loves tea stevia is a great benefit. I grow six plants so I can share with friends. As I have been using it for six or seven years I am beginning to tire of its taste. At first I really liked the long sweet flavor that lingered so well.
- Q: I am wondering if pure gasoline like we use to have before idiots took control of our country is available somewhere here in San Diego, not Mexico I‘m aware it‘s available there but cannot be transported back in any quantity that exceeds your vehicles normal gas tank (again idocracy). If not is there an additive that will significantly and cost effectively counteract the negative side-effects of deathanol. Thanks in advance; and I‘m not interested in hearing how wonderful and responsible ethanol is nor our being forced to use it. Please!
- I agree with you. This crap costs more in lost fuel mileage then in helps. I have a 77' olds cutlass with a v8 engine and auto trans. I have had this car for almost 20 years. When I first got it, I averaged 22mpg at 55mph. Not bad for a v8. Now with this E-crap, I'm lucky if I get 18mpg. I have started using Lucas fuel system additive and have found my mileage has increases to about 21mpg. I use it also in my 97' chevy truck and it has helped increase my mileage from 16mpg to 18. I have also found that it is more cost effective if I buy the large bottle. A small bottle is about 5 bucks and treats 20 gallons, where as the large bottle is about 20 bucks and I can get 5 small bottles out of it. Hope this helps. Christopher
- Q: I know they have scented additives that make exhaust smell like cherries and fruits but do they have any for coloring?
- save your money on additives . practice better driving habits take off slow and stop slow . let off the gas and coast when you come up to stop . the more you do it the better your mileage will get I can get a couple miles better just by doing this . this will also make your brakes last a lot longer
- Q: The main components of commonly used antioxidants in food additives, as well as the principles of antioxidant?
- Antioxidants are a class of food additives that prevent or delay oxidative deterioration of food ingredients. Food in the production, processing and storage process, and the role of oxygen fade, discoloration, odor smell is the phenomenon of food oxidation and deterioration. Such as meat color change, vegetables, fruit browning, beer smell and discoloration and so on. Fat or food fat oxidation rancidity, in addition to the nature of the fat itself, but also with the temperature, humidity, air and catalytic oxidation of light, enzymes and copper, iron and other metal ions to eliminate its catalytic activity. The principle of antioxidant is to prevent or delay the oxidation of food, but can not be restored after the oxidation reaction, because the antioxidant must be added before the oxidation and deterioration. (BHA), dibutylhydroxytoluene (BHT), tert-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ), butteryl , Gallate (PC), etc., water-soluble ascorbic acid and its salts, isoascorbic acid and its salts and so on. Eucalyptus sources can be divided into natural and synthetic two categories: natural brain phospholipids, tea and more fat; synthetic dibutyl hydroxytoluene and so on. The amount of antioxidant used is very small, must be fully mixed with the food in order to play a good role.
- Q: What Is the relationship between additive and synergistic effect with bacteria and antibiotics?
- Car alarm + barking dogs makes more noise, so you're brilliant idea isn't as brilliant as you think. In fact, it's down right stupid.
- Q: I have to write a research paper on this topic, and I am having trouble finding legitimate sources to pull information. I have looked on google, Bing, and yahoo, but every time I find a source my professor tells me that it‘s not credible, because the people who write them aren‘t doctors, scientist or professional researchers. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of some websites or a book I could read to begin my research.
- It might help if you tell us what sites your professor nixed. There is certainly tons of info on line about research on preservatives and additives. But I'm not going to do your research without at least know what sort of sources are acceptable. But then, if you knew that, you wouldn't be looking for help?
