Q: Anyone know the costs/taxes/duties involved in importing a excavator into canada?
Contact CRA on this, it's not a simple process. It'll depend what, where it was built, all sorts of factors. You'll want to deal through a customs broker, they can also estimate the taxes and fees. You'd also be advised to check your local provincial licensing regulations, worker's compensation board etc, they may have specific rules on safety equipment etc.
Q: my friend bought an old 690B john deer excavator- but the bucket and arm cyls. are toast ! I got lots of parts #'s for him off the jd site but can't get the actual specs for the cylinders. any tips?
If you're looking to replace the cylinders, just take some measurements from the old ones - however, you're not likely to find replacements that are exact enough to work properly. The cylinders might be made by John Deere, or they could come from Hitachi, which made a lot of JD excavator parts. If the cylinders just need resealing and rebushing, take them to a hydraulic shop - they can find the right seals and wipers, and they can hone them or re-chrome the rods if necessary.
Q: Im building a new house and i am currently arranging to have the excavator contractor there to install septic and excavate for the foundation. Then im having the foundation contractor come in to do his job. I live in Nova Scotia if that makes any difference. Should any of these guys be asking for money up front or part way through? Or do they finish then bill me with 30 days to pay? Whats the normal procedure?
I just built a house. I paid the architect after final billing and paid the contractor first a deposit, and from then on had a planned payment schedule of 3 sums with the successful completion of each stage as described in our contract. There was also a final payment for requested extras not included in our quote. Our builder is a very stand up guy.

Q: Hi everyone I'm an Australia moving to Norway at the end of the year and I'm looking for work as a excavator operator in or around Stavanger. can any one help please?

Q: How do I get my basement to stop flooding?
OOH, that one involves some work. The most effective is to rent an excavator, possibly a mini depending on your yard size. Then you did out the ground in front of the house where it is taking in water. Enough room has to be there in order to refinish the wall to become waterproof. This could be masonry work, cement, you'll be able to tell once you get to that point. After that is done, back fill the dirt, and head to the basement. I used masonry caulking on the floors around my leaks. Another way is to hire the people who waterproof your basement for you. it will save you time and aggravation, I promise. They know what to do and what to look for. maybe they can come out and offer you some advice. Good Luck. I bought a product called DAMP RID at Home Depot to hang up in the areas of moisture. It's about $4.00 for a month's worth of help.
Q: I write my graduation thesis, but I don't know what the excavator work system is
Excavator is divided into the car part, get off part, and work device part, get off is mainly the walking mechanism, the car is mainly controlled. The work device, as the name suggests, is the part that works. The excavator is the big arm, the small arm, the bucket, and some have the ripper. The main or hydraulic system, main pump, felling, pilot system etc..
Q: I am going to buy a weatherby vanguard with a Barska? 8 - 32x50 mm Illuminated Long - range Excavator Scope. I have not decided whether to get a .308 or a .223 i can get both round for 15 cents a round. I will be doing nothing but target shooting at 500 yards + so knock down power has no effect on my decision .I am deciding on the pure fact of accuracy.any advice appreciated thank you.
If you're shooting for accuracy at 500 yards or more, you aren't getting ammo in either caliber for 15 cents a round, not even if you handload it yourself. The .308 will be less effected by wind at those distances, and a good round (not a 15 cent round) will be more consistent, if not necessarily more accurate.
