- Q:I would like to operate heavy equipment such as a dozer, crane, excavator, etc. All the jobs I have seen require experience, how do I lean to do this if everyone wants you to know how already? I have seen schools that you can go to but they charge $10,000 for a 9 week class, I cannot afford this and prob wouldnt pay that if I could afford it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
- IF you do not want to attend a certified school, (and I don't blame you) then your best option is to apply to the companies that do the type of work, get a spot as a laborer, and while you are in your interview, clarify what you want to do. (for yourself and for the company) Start out on the bottom, and find a mentor that will be willing to teach you, or get the company to send you to school. It is a great field to be in, so don't give up.

- I've heard of this self-proclaimed excavator in Bosnia. The pyramids could be 12,000 years old, this person claims, based on geological knowledge of the area. That is exactly the main point of contention for specialists concerned with the archeology in the Balkan region. Europe was in the late Upper Paleolithic at this point and no one was building anything except flimsy huts, according to scientists. As for Bosnia, yes, I know it used to be a beautiful country, But I haven't been there recently. I know people are generally hospitable and warm, just like you, but not everybody understands that :)

- the underground homes are called dugouts. they started with digging into the earth or mound from the side and tunnelling fairly deeply. the initial tunnel becomes the entrance to the home. small excavation machinery is used and is a slow and steady process.
- Q:My son just turned 3 and he is obsessed with the movie Up. We took him to see it and ever since he has been asking for balloons and running around yelling quot;up up and away!quot; He has a cardboard box quot;housequot; that he quot;fixesquot; with his plastic tools, last week he took one of his balloons and asked me to attach it to the top so it was like the Up house. Then he ran around all day yelling quot;So long boysquot; out the window. Too cute!
- My two year old nephew has a mind of his own too. He knows every type of construction vehicle created by man. - I have had good luck with a company called Gabberdeen. They have everything. I have a 331 and I got my whole undercarriage and tracks for them from CHEAP. Find them on the internet.
- Q:I am a mechanic but I have very little knowledge of hydraulics. The following hydraulic responses are way too slow: bucket movement and the right hand side track movement. The slew/swing motor has no power. I am wondering if these functions are all fed from the same pump and it could just be a pump adjustment?? I know the pump was recently replaced with a cat dealer reman. unit. Please help ASAP.
- The hydraulic pump provides the pressurised oil to the control valves, which have solenoids on them that allow oil flow through them when power is applied, which depending on application makes a hyd cylinder or hyd drive motor operate. The handles on either side of the operaters chair have micro switches inside them that power the solenoids on the valves. The valve body assemblys, or sandwich valves they are called, are able to be pressure ajusted independently to make more or less movement to whatever it operates. On the bottom of the valve theres a cover for the valve spool, the allen wrench fitting in the base is the pressure ajuster. BUT DO NOT ATTEMPT TO AJUST PRESSURE ON ANY PART OF THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM WITHOUT A TRIPLE PRESSURE REG GAUGE. PRESSURES IN SYSTEM EXCEED 3000 PSI AND IF INCORRECTLY AJUSTED COULD CAUSE A PRESSURE COMPONENT TO FAIL AND HURT OR KILL YOUR SELF OR SOMEONE ELSE
