- Q: I am looking at buying two Power Acoustik P3's, but still am weary about what kind of amp I need to power them. Each sub is 12, with 1300watts RMS 1600watts peak. Most Class D amps I have seen are rated at 4ohm, 2 ohm, and 1 ohm stable. These speakers run at 2ohms. On amps I am looking at run at 900watts RMS x1 channel. So if I am running 2 speakers, is this cut in half? So for instance instead of the amp running 900watts RMS, it would be running 450watts RMS to each speaker. To me, that's pretty underpowered. I'm not trying to break the bank on this, both speakers are gonna cost me $200, an enclosure probably 60-80.
- I can't help you on the quality of the speakers. But if you put in speakers that can not handle all the power the amp can put out be care full not to turn the radio up all the way. just because the amp is rated at that power rating it is only putting that out at full power or before distortion ruins the sound quality reproduction of the speakers. do no thry to put a potenetionmeter (variable resistor) in series with the speakers, you'll change the resistance and mess up the balance of the resistance of the circuit.
- Q: I ve only ever charged it once and it worked. Now after completely draining it I tried to recharge it but when I connect it, it only blinks to indicate low power but doesn t charge! what s wrong?
- Keep trying to charge it. Unplug replug it every 30mn until it catches. You can only charge it via the micro USB and discharge it to charge your phone through the standard USB port, or it will be damaged.
- Q: I have a 400 watt power supply is that enough for gaming? And I currently have the pentium g3258 cpu, and I want to upgrade, what can I upgrade to that is better but won't kill my bank I only have around $150 to spend on one
- depends on the system required wattage total. find the wattage for all the devices and add them up if it is more than 400 watts then its not enough. some GPU cards can take 150 watts by themselves add a cooler and extra fans or a 2nd sli card and your max you power supply with out including the dvd or the readers or the mother card processor and its cooling the case cooing. corsair 750+
- Q: I went to one of the major banks in Australia as a non-customer with $80 worth of $20 Australian notes wanting to exchange them for $10 Australian notes and they said it will cost 10% ($8) to do it. How can it cost so much money to change money in the same currency? I can understand it costing money if it was a lot of money or I brought in heap of coins but this was literally 4 notes! Why are they so greedy for money hitting people who can least afford it?
- They are not greedy - just a business.
- Q: I'm filling out a power of attorney and not sure what to put in the Capacity portion. Can someone tell me what the capacity means? :)
- Capacity is what you are allowing or authorizing the person as power of attorney to do on your behalf. Personally, I would not give power of attorney over my Bank Account and I would have a Contingency in place to revoke power of attorney at anytime and at your discretion.
- Q: I see many computer UPS out in the market, but do UPS meant for whole houses exist? I live in a small town, and we have brownouts often, lasting for a split second up to 20 seconds at a time. A lot of our electronics get messed up 'coz of this. We also have a back-up generator. Is there a way to connect the generator to the UPS so that if we get a blackout lasting for hours at a time, we have time to turn on the generator without power dying.
- Critical commercial and government facilities, like hospitals and air traffic control centers, have power systems that combine back-up battery banks with generators (usually diesel powered) to provide continuous power. These systems are custom engineered for each facility. No doubt one could be built for a residential application, but it would be expensive.
- Q: I was wondering, if someone has a joint account with an uncle, or grandfather, how much power do they have over the money? For example, let's say Sally is 16 and her and her grandfather open a joint account at the bank. Now, how much money can Sally take out, and can the grandfather find out exactly where she spent it?
- I work at a credit union. If the account is set up as a joint account both account holders have equal access to the information. You can set up the account so that both have to be present to make a withdrawl if you are concerned about the 16 yr old blowing all her money. You could also set up a trust account for her. That would give her no access. Sally could get her own account at any age in Canada.
- Q: Any rescue plan should also be designed to ensure that taxpayers are protected. It should welcome the participation of financial institutions, large and small. It should make certain that failed executives do not receive a windfall from your tax dollars.
- That is a rather idealistic and naive point. The power of the banks in most western nations but in particular the United States of America and Great britain is truly awesome and both governments tread on very thin ice when negotiating with these very clever and utterly ruthless crocodiles. In many ways the senior directors of the major banks and other financial institutions wield more power and have greater influence in decisions affecting the nation than the 'here today gone tomorrow' politicians.
- Q: I am doing a power point project for my business class in college. Was told to pick a company in the financial service area. For my part of the project I need to create a slide on the weaknesses of chase bank. What could cause chase to fall? What are some areas it is lacking? Etc. etc.
- They deal in volume banking. They just want as many accounts as they can get, its all quantity and no quality. Poor customer service compared to other banks. Higher fees than other banks. Less one on one service, no personal bankers on personal checking. Long lines, because they have to few workers inside. Usually 1 person in the drive thru and the bank at the location I go to, its horrible
- Q: I live in houston, tx and my husband went to jail. I have a notarized durable power of attorney but the bank will not let me deposit his check in my bank because he doesn't sign on my account. He doesn't have a bank account. What can I do? He needs this money to post bail or get an attorney.
- It would be legal for the bank to accept it, but no law forces them to do so. Your best bet is probably to take the check, plus the actual signed power of attorney, to the bank on which the check is written, and cash it. Then you can deposit the check into your own bank. Alternatively, have you tried just depositing the check into your bank through the ATM machine and not going through the semi-literate teenager at the counter at all? Richard
