- My boys (ages 3 and almost 5) sleep in bunk beds. The 3 y/o on the bottom and the older boy on the top. The bunk beds that we bought has a railing that goes almost all the way around the top bunk. They have been sleeping in them since before Christmas and haven't had any problems with them yet. We skipped the toddler bed stage all together. I couldn't see buying a toddler bed that is still the size of a crib and only getting to use it for a little while. We went straight to twin beds for the boys, then onto these bunk beds. Since they share a room, it's great to have the extra space in their room. If it's just the one child you could use the top bunk to store things like teddy bears and stuffed animals. Just evaluate how much you want to spend on the bed and go from there. Good luck!!!

- Hello, First realize that you can not keep her in her bed. She has to want to stay in her bed. With my 2 yr old twins we made a HUGE deal about their new big boy and big girl beds. I let them pick out a new bed toy and help design their new rooms. This seemed to help them understand that this is their room/bed and that they needed to figure out how to become comfortable in it. This helped my kids make the adjustment. They still get out of bed but they stay in their room and will get into their bed when they are tired. Most nights they go right to sleep. Good luck!

- Seriously throw your bed linens in a hot wash and vacuum your mattress. Bed Bugs need to be professionally exterminated. PROFRESSIONALLY! Raid and Off etc will not eliminate them. They could be in your bed, floor, walls....call a professional....bed bugs are back in the US and they are infesting at a high rate

- Put him in his own bed! Make it an enticing place to be - favorite characters, stuffed animals, etc. Make sure you read to him each night in his big boy bed. Then stick to it! He's not gonna learn to sleep on his own until you make him to do it. Not to mention it's hard to make another kid with him in your bed...lol.
