- Q: i want to get a scaffold ear pireceing but i got my cartlige done about 2 to 3 years ago but any way if i got a industrial done who would they do it with my cartlige done would thay use it and just make one hole instead of two
- It's possible, but chances are the hole isn't at the perfect angle to meet up across the ear with the second hole. Like previous poster said, try the other ear, or move to a different part of the ear.

- Q: i know they are meant to be done as one piercing and with one bar to reduce the risk of them not aligning properly but is it possible to have it done as one piercing and then replacing the bar with two separate ones after it has partially healed. is there still a risk? also, how low down and at what angle should the bar be?thanks x
- They can be done as two separate piercings, and it is up to the piercer and the shape of your ear to decide if something like that will be done. However, I would not recommend it, because even if it is partially healed, putting two separate earrings in can still misalign the piercing when you go to put the bar back in later. I would recommend keeping the bar in, it's a guaranteed way to make your piercing work out. Besides, once you get used to the bar, you won't even know you have it in! Much easier than keeping track of two separate earrings and making sure they still align months down the road. As for the angle, it depends on your preference and what is able to be done due to the shape of your ear. Some people want theirs straight across, others want a much steeper angle. It all depends on preference and shape of ear. Hope this helps, good luck!
- Q: I got my industrial pierced about three days ago. The shop I wanted to go to closed so I went to another one that cost a bit more. The guy who pierced it said to only clean it with warm water, but when I got my helix, tounge webbing and angel bites I was told that all new piercings need disinfectant. What are some disinfectants I could use and am I right by doing this or should I listen to the piercer?
- Well you definitely need to use more than just warm water to clean it. Try using something like Provon soap and do sea salt soaks at least twice a day to keep it clean.
- Q: im asking this because when i get back to school in september i will probably need to take it out for PE once a week in the mornings if thats possible, i cant tell my teacher that i cant do PE because if they found out i had the piercing they wold ask me to take it out as its school rules to not have any piercing other than the lobes.so should i even get it, i really want it.
- Takes about 3 months (so piercers say) to heal. Although in my first year of having it, whenever i took it out, it would pretty much immediately start healing :/ I took it out once for half an hour and it felt tight when i tried to get the bar back in. My ear was numbed when it was pierced but it did hurt for a few hours afterwards (everyone's different) - just like a burning ache really not proper painful :) obviously it WRECKS when you bang/catch it but i've had this for 3 years now and its fine.

- Thats an awesome piercing, nice job! I'm not laughing about being unable to unscrew it - I have a piercing in my pinna I've never been able to get out - had it for like 6 months. What I will say it that you shouldn't be taking it out yet really anyway. If you wash it in sea-salt and warm water once a day it should be almost totally healed in 8 weeks, which is still about two weeks away if you got it on the 16th Feb. Even then for the first 6 months or so it'll close pretty quickly (not in like an hour or anything, but it could get tighter in as little as 3 or 4 hours), so you should try to leave it in all the time for that 6 month period.
- Q: I've had my industrial piercing for about 6 months, about 2 months after I had it done I thought it was healed and stupidly changed the bar to a cheap on I bought off ebay. BIG mistake I know, it got infected and I was put on antibiotics. It's been healing well for about 3 months now, but how long roughly will it take to fully heal?
- It depends on different people. It takes quite a while for industrial piercings to heal, it can take from 3 months, but usually it takes about 10 months to a year to fully heal.

- Q: Hi im thinking of buying some Industrial Jewelry online but im not sure about the measurements. My recipt for my piercing says a 14g 1/4 barbell was used.
- From what I see on the site, pick the 14GA 11/4 option since it's long enough to go through the top of your ear. Seems there was a little typo on the receipt your piercer gave you. The mm measurements next to each of the sizing options refer to the diameter of the balls on either side. Hope that helped!
