- Her winter coat would not be fully in yet and if those are your temperatures then she should be all right with a lightweight blanket if she is out at nights but would be OK without during the day until her coat is in I have all my horses clipped when they are working in the winter and I know that if I clip them now, as their coats are just coming in, they will need doing again by November despite being blanketed at nights.
