When my daughter was 16 months old, she got a toddler bed and she hates it. Her big sister who lives with us half the time has a twin bed and my daughter gets up at every chance and climbs into her sisters twin bed. If you are worried about your big girl falling out of bed than I would invest in those safety rails which will come in handy if by chance you were to get pregnant again and your second child needs a big kid bed.
