Q: We are painting our garageOur house is 25 years old, and the insulation around the furnace (I think) was either asbestos or fiberglassWhat is the best insulation material today? We didn't have any trouble taking off the old stuff, but we don't know what the best material to get is todayOur furnace is old, but it still works just fine.
If its a minor problem you can fix and the property manager does not fix the problem, you should document you efforts to have the problem fixedHire a licensed professional to fix the problem and deduct that amount from the rentIf the problems are major, move.
Q: inject something into the top? like what
I live in San Antonio, so I feel the heat tooRadiant barrier, when correctly applied, reduce the heat gain inside the house from the outside sourcesThis means that your entire house stays cooler and is more efficient to keep coolThe Ducting simply moves the air around the house from the blower to the ventsThe ducting is somewhat insulated and as long as it is intact and does not have holes it is still functionalYou will save more money in the long run by the radiant barrier, it will help your A/C run more efficiently.
Q: I have a Tan, brown, and black beanie thats 60% cotton, and 40% acrylic that I want to dye Green, yellow, and redIs it possible to do that? And if so, what dye should I use?
Some of us prefer to number the chemical groups 1 to 18 across the PT as recommended by IUPAC in 1990For groups 1-11 (Cu group) the group number indicates the number of valence e?In this case we mean the number of electrons that are suitable in energy for bonding and certainly not the maximum oxidation state of the element (the heavier group 8 elements Ru(VIII) and Os(VIII) are found in the tetroxides, MO4); for groups 12-18 you drop the 1 so group 13 (B-Tl) have three valence e?; group 17 (halogens) have seven valence e?The noble gases, group 18 elements, as you probably know are largely inert and only Xe has significant chemistryThis new method of labeling has several advantagesFor example there is no confusion between A and B groups (the US and European conventions are opposite)If you are a transition metal chemist there is no confusion with Groups 8, 9 and 10 (and the number of e? each has)In the past referring to a group VIII element you could be talking an element in group 8, 9, 10 or even 18.
Q: help help
You are correct, the average price of gas is approaching $4.00 a gallon but in all honesty, I am not really certain that this will change my mindset much concerning vacationIf you are going to pinch pennies, or in this case dollars, then the word vacation shouldn't even be in your vocabularyIf I want to go, then I will.
Q: I bought the wrong ply wool , I needed 300gms of 4 ply but bought 400 gms of 3 ply insteadIt's for a baby blanket and the pattern says to use a size 4.00 mm crochet hookShould I use a different size hook ?Thank you.
Okay, I'm guessing that you are in the UK, even though Yahoo! did not indicate that on your questionIf I'm wrong, this answer won't make senseThe Peter Pan 3-ply (tension: 34 sts 42 rows)has 50 percent more yardage than does the Peter Pan 4-ply (tension: 28 sts 36 rows)Therefore, it's 2/3 the size of the 4-plyYou would need a hook that's 3.00 mm or thereabouts to get a fabric that's the same density, although it will be lighter in weightAlso, the stitches and therefore the blanket will be smallerYou have several options: 1Return the 3-ply yarn and get 4-ply yarnThen you can use the hook that gives you the tension called for in your pattern (whether it's the 4.00 mm hook is another question)2Use the 3-ply yarn with a smaller hook and produce a smaller blanket3Use the 3-ply yarn with a smaller hook, add on approximately 50 percent more chains in the starting chain, and make a blanket that's close to the original sizeIt wil, of course, take about twice as long to crochet the same size with the smaller yarn and smaller hook 4Use two strands of the 3-ply yarn with a 4.00 hook and your original directionsThe resulting blanket will be a bit denser and a tad larger than the original, but not muchAnd you have plenty of the yarn, so you could do this without running out of yarnWhat would I do? If it's convenient to do so, I'd return the yarn and get the right thingIf it's inconvenient to do that, I'd double the yarn and make the heavier blanket, assuming the stitch pattern and the fabric look good in the doubled yarn, on the theory that the blanket will be warmer and that's a good thingYou'll have to decide what will work for you.
Q: What's the point of having fiber in your diet? What is it actually? What does it do? Thanks.
Ultimatum.as in let me buy the big screen TV or I'll leave? What ultimatum r u talking about? Al siding sounds better than an ultimatum; a pearl necklace would be better.
Q: I need to lose 2 pounds of fat in a week, and was thinking of taking up a high fiber diet, along with 30 minutes of cardio every dayWill this work ? :) any advice is appreciated
I like b and c for their ease of handling when the fish is cooked or when you have to turn the fish over Also consider getting an untreated cedar plank and soaking it in water for an hourThen, place the fish on the plank and grill it that wayYou don't have to worry about the fish sticking to the grill and the plank imparts a nice smoky cedar flavor.
Q: I've never done needlepoint, but I'm interestedThere are some really cool patterns on Etsy, but I don't know what else I'll need besides a printout of the patternAbout how much should I expect to spend? Thanks in advance :)
if you buy salmon with the skin on ityou can cook it skin side downand if the skin sticks you just lift the fish off the skin when you are ready to serveif you cook it with a lid/foil on top you won't need to flip so your salmon won't stick.
Q: There used to be indoor/outdoor carpet in my basement, so I ripped it up to find old parquet tiles and a tar-like adhesiveNeedless to say, it was quite horribleI was able to remove all the tars and some of the adhesiveI ended up putting carpet tiles over the remainder of the floor and now the basement is damp (starting to smell moldy and musty)Any ideas on how to re-do the flooring (inexpensive and quickly) so that there are no more water issues?
I'd recommend you look into flooring options developed specifically for basementsBecause of the moisture problems you need something that is 100% waterproof, non-absorbent and inorganic so that mold won't growAccording to the U.S Department of Energy Building America best practices, recommendations you need something that lets the slab (and walls) breath and the moisture to evaporate into the basement, rather than being trapped behind the flooringSo vinyl sheets, linoleum, rubber floors, Epoxy and other sealants and waterproof coatings are not good choices as they do nothing to keep the ground water from infiltrating the slab through capillary actionCoatings and paints tend to peel off and there in no way of telling what happens when moisture builds up behind vinyl, linoleum and rubberGood basement flooring solutions are usually presented as interlocking, floating tiles or laminates that can be laid without adhesives and removed as neededThe best thing about them is that they have a channel system on the back that allows the slab to evaporate while offering also thermal protectionYou get a comfortable soft finished surface that is at least 10 degrees warmer than the slab underneathThey come in a number of different finishes, like faux hardwood laminates, faux ceramic tile, and carpeted tilesThey are also more affordable, and way easier to install that ceramic tiles and stained concretewhich would be other two options, and unlike these, you can walk over the floor and use the room immediately after installation.
