if there really pitted sand it down you can buy polishing discs that fit on a grinder and the polish comes in bars brown green and white and u use them in that order brown being the coarser i use an acid to clean them first makes it easyier forget what its called but they use it to etch and cleen concrete its strong so where gloves and dont spill it and flour helps get the polish off if it gets in any pits and scratches

Q:I have a cabin in central Missouri that has 20' of exposed 3/4quot; copper lineWe will only visit the cabin a few times in winter for a few days and when not there all lines are drained and winterizedI'm debating whether to use a heat tape with the black insulation OR just the black insulation with R19 wrapped around that and run water through the line every few hours warm the pipe back up to well/ground tempsAnyone have thoughts on this?
I live in Southern MissouriMountain GroveAll you need to do when you are there is let the faucet drip on nights when it is well below freezingI don't trust that electrical heating tape I would insulate the pipes with the black insulation, but I would also tape the black insulation so it doesn't open on the seam and allow cold air inSince the pipes are drained when you are not there, leave the faucets open.

the best way to do that is by using low heat and a frying pan with a small amount of EVOO, (extra virg olive oil), give it about 3-6 minsand dont forget to stir it around some .

What's your application and what are you insulating against?
Q:I have a cabin, about 800 square feet that I have to move into for nowIt has to be weatherized, and have electricityMy questions are:Is there special insulation that is quot;energy efficientquot; ?What should I use for electricity? (The cabin has no electricity)Im thinking wood stove for heating, does that sound feasible? Solar panels? Wind turbines? which is best for me? Im looking to power a computer, some lights, a washing machine, and a dryer (I will hang dry them in the warmer times of the year) I need to be able to lower as much as I can for costsHow can I purify the water? It has a well, I've heard about salt water purification systems being good? Please help me Im being forced to move into my old family cabin and have nowhere else to go.
Forget the washer and dryer unless you get a generator that you run only for those appliancesAnd you would save size of generator by getting a propane gas dryerAssuming your cabin is in rural USA, you can probably have a moderate sized tank installed and negotiate cost with delivery to the tank from one or more companies that supply farms, ranches and homesThis will also give you heat in the winter and cooking gas Depending on where you are located, a wood stove may be restricted in use because of the pollution caused by the popularity of them Modern steel walled wood stoves are very efficientAnd not really cheap Solar or wind is a lot cheaper if you forgo 120 volts and stick with 12 voltsIf you can't get a laptop that recharges from an automobile plug in, then you could get a small high quality inverter that used only when the computer is on Before you can even consider using the well, you need to have the water tested to see what its problems areYou may be able to do nothing or to use a simple filterSalt water purification systems are good, but are ridiculously expensive if you are starting with basically fresh waterNot having electricity, or not much, means you are going to have to pump the water on a limited basis or hand pump it And you have failed to mention sewerEither you are going to have to have a chemical toilet, an outhouse, or dig a septic field, which may or may not be possible in the soil around your cabin and under the state or county rules in your location (because of the risk of polluting your neighbors' water.) All insulation of equal rating is equally efficient, but some insulation is more efficient by thickness, which means you might have 4 of one and 9 of anotherBy far the most important thing is sealing as much of the house as possible at the windows, doors and cracks so that air infiltration is reduced to keep from blowing your heat out the other side of the place.
Q:seriously theres like no industry or demand for them now here in the uscows fulfill need for milk and meat and we have dogs and cats for petsgoats are basically pointless and are only needed in poor countries now
There are quite a few cheeses made from goat's milkThere are people who can't drink cattle milk, but have no problems with goat milkWhile eatting goat is not common among Americans, there a lot of people who moved here or grew up in a family that moved here that eat goat more frequently than beefAngora sweaters, blankets and rugs are made from angora goat fiberSo, no, goats aren't pointless.
