- Q: I have a dinning room table that expands to 102 inches when the leaves are added. That length also means I have to spend a lot of money on a single table cloth! I think they call that banquet size. With fine linens, like everything else, costing so much these days, I really don't want Uncle Jim's red wine or Aunt Sara's coffee to totally ruin the table cloth if they spill. Not to mention, spills always seem to happen outside of a place mat.So is it really that uncool to put a non-shiny thin plastic...... something-or-other over the table cloth?
- Hmph.. I guess if there is any way possible to make it not look tacky? yeah.. BUT ? Even if I suggested for you to get two smaller cheaper table cloths and hide the seam with a runner.. you would still be unprotected. Try to see if you can make it look classy and not tacky otherwise. ... If you don't care what people truly think on such a superficial level I wouldn't worry about it. I know I probably wouldn't even notice or think twice about it it didn't stand out. Maybe pin it? Good luck. OOOOHhhh I really like Lea T's answer. Get some pretty fabric.. hem it to size and use it for the party, but don't use it in regular decor. Then if something happens to it during the pary.. it won't be like a slap across the face if you buy a new one and it gets a mess all over it.
- Q: (the clear plastic sheet that is used for holding and protecting the art cover, not the shrink wrap)
- cellophane
- Q: my doubt is that if the plastic used for recycling may be any medical things such as blood bags, cyringe(used for injuction, etc) the viruses from that material goes alive in the new material made frm recycled plastic?
- It sounds like you have a fear of germs/virus'. I cannot say that I know for fact, but I'm pretty sure that in the process of recycling products they are melted down at extremely high temperatures. Temperatures high enough to kill off all bacteria, before they are then re-assembled into the various products we use today. Also, it is highly unlikely that things such as syringes and bags containing blood and other human liquids ARE recycled. Those things are considered Hazardous Waste and are placed in specifically designed sealed waste bins, and disposed of safely. It would be incredibly irresponsible for a hospital to recycle such products, as you've suggested, and it would also leave them open to millions of lawsuits! Can you imagine? I am sure that the plastic bags you see have been recycled from other plastics such as.. bags, pop bottles, laundry detergent bottles and the like..
- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for exterior cladding?
- Yes, plastic sheets can be used for exterior cladding. Plastic cladding materials like PVC or polycarbonate are commonly used due to their durability, weather resistance, and low maintenance requirements. They are often chosen as an alternative to traditional materials like wood or metal for their affordability and ease of installation.

- You should try Home Depot or Lowes
- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for safety guards in manufacturing?

- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for automotive windshields?

- Q: Whats the best way of approaching this??
- I was a very late bed wetter. Your son needs to be told that many boys and girls wet their beds even when they are teenagers. It is just something that happens to some boys and girls as they grow up. I would have liked something like the pull up pants that substitute for a diaper and now are available for children and adults. They would be good to have plus an absorbent pad to put on the bottom sheet to protect the mattress. If he doesn't wet then he can reuse the pull up the next night. If all you can find are diapers, then he needs to know that even mommies, and daddies, and older brothers and sisters use them if they have bed wetting, or wetting problems. He needs to know that he is still a big boy and will out grow wetting the bed. Now you could be talking about a teenager. They wet the bed too. If it is infrequent then they will out grow it in time. Even they would likely prefer to be in a diaper or pull up then awaking in a soggy wet bed. If the wetting is very frequent then the child needs a doctors visit for help.
- Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to discoloration from chemicals?
- Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to discoloration caused by chemicals.
- Q: I am making paintings (fine art) that can be painted and lifted like large decals. I have used 6 mil shipping plastic, This works great, but is hell to format and non-permanent. I need to identify and locate a more stable substitute. (Clear plastic sheeting; large solid sheets that watersoluble paint will peel off of.)I would think the same thing tupperware is made of (polypropylene), but cannot find it in flat clear sheets. Does anyone know what the clear painters pallettes are made of (melamine?) and if it is sold in sheets to the public? I have been trying to put a finger on this for over 2 years--any help or leads out there?thanx
- Glass is good. Prepare the surface with a undiluted liquid soap wash and let that dry. Across that you do a quick layer of medium or any color you want. Quick is the key as you don't want to mix it with the soap to much. Let it all dry and do your thing. It isn't the read-made solution you were looking for but this works very well.
