2.Feature
Is a very strong, lightweight and easily cut material useful for sign making, backing artwork , mounting photographic and art prints, framing, and 3D design and sculpture. It consists of three layers — an inner foam layer of polystyrene sandwiched between an outer facing board of either white clay coated, black matte or color clay coated paper.
The foamcore has a built-in memory, allowing it to return to its original thickness after cutting. Foam board does not hold up well to wet adherents and is therefore not suitable for wet painting. For painting, Gatorboard is recommended.
However for sign painting with acrylics , as a temporary signage it is unmatched in its economy.
Available in all white foam board and all black foam board and
3.Color foam board
.
White foam board has smooth, clay-coated, glossy liners.
Black foam board has a solid black core, wrapped in smooth, matte black paper.

- Q: The table cloth is a transparent plastic sheet. Is there any easy way to remove candle wax that fell on it?
- Not totally sure this would work for you... I'd hate for you to melt the plastic, but it did work for me on a velvet coat. Take a plain brown bag and put it over the wax, take an iron thats set on low or medium and iron it slowly. the bag will absorb the melted wax. you have to turn the bag as it absorbs to get... fresh non waxy bag. Good luck!
- Q: I want to build a Darth Vader helmet/mask. Sculpting is no problem, neither is building the vacuum former, but every web link I have found just tells me what kind of plastic to use, not where to buy it.
- Google your own address then Map then Search Nearby and Plastics - Sheet. This should give you places that will sell you many kinds of plastics and will cut down from full sheets (which are 4x8 ft in US) Call them and ask about types and cost. Some specialize. In Dallas Texas, Regal Plastics is one such.
- Q: Can plastic sheets be used for safety windows?
- Yes, plastic sheets can be used for safety windows.
- Q: What is polystyrene foam board thin plastering exterior wall insulation system?
- Thin plastering system has excellent insulation performance, good waterproof performance and wind pressure resistance, impact resistance, and can effectively solve the wall cracks and leakage water problems. The [1] system of mature technology, convenient construction, high cost performance, has been widely used in developed countries, the developed coastal areas, is the real estate developers, energy-saving building design and construction unit of the preferred insulation system. With the further development of building energy efficiency, the system will become the mainstream products of the market.
- Q: Are plastic sheets resistant to discoloration from cleaning chemicals?
- Yes, plastic sheets are generally resistant to discoloration from cleaning chemicals.
- Q: how do we make a transparent plastic sheet translucent?or vice versa
- translucent, opaque, translucent, opaque, translucent, opaque, sparkling if it hasn't have been given many air bubbles, sparkling close to sufficient, sparkling, translucent in that order.
- Q: My situation is kind of hard to describe, but I am looking for a company that will sell me some plastic sheets.I have found and asked plenty of companies out there, but none of them seem to carry the type of plastic I need.I am looking for plastic sheets that are from 1mm-3mm thick, and are about as rigid as a Hallmark card.Anyone know where I can get this type of plastic? I don't care about color. Thanks so much.
- Acetate Sheets. ? If they would work you should be able to pick them up at a craft store or even a office store, ie. Staples or Office Max
- Q: I found the perfect thickness of plastic Delrin in my garage but it's already shaped in an exact circle. The Diameter is 4 inches which is fine because I need 3.89 inch diameter in the pieces I'm cutting. I have approx. 75.3 inches of length of the delrin. Each of the pieces is really thin that I'm creating a mear .03125 inches. I need 324 pieces and a couple to spare wouldn't hurt. Does anyone know how to calculate this or is there a calculator that does this?
- Confusing question, but I think I understand what you need. There are yield calculators out there on the internet, but I will do the math for you. You would get 327 pieces of 4 diameter discs that are .03125 thick. The reason it wouldn't be more is that the saw blade will eat up material in between each cut (about .2 per cut) Just so you know, this job will be VERY difficult to do, so make sure you have proper machinery or take it to a professional. Good luck!
- Q: I had to put a plastic sheet over my garden because it has been raining non-stop. When the sun comes out, will I have to take it down, or will the UV rays pass thru it??
- SherylU, Ultraviolet rays will penetrate the plastic sheet.
- Q: I'm trying to learn Gauss's law and I'm having trouble with these two questions.1. Consider a long cylindrical charge distribution of radius R = 17 cm with a uniform charge density of ρ = 17 C/m3. Find the electric field at a distance r = 35 cm from the axis. I know E= 2k_e*(lamda/r), but the question gave rho, which is confusing me.2. A 12 g piece of Styrofoam carries a net charge of -9.1 ?C and floats above the center of a large horizontal sheet of plastic that has a uniform charge density on its surface. What is the charge per unit area on the plastic sheet? I got to the point where I had the charge density = -mg(epsilon_0)/q, but apparently that is not the correct answer, and I don't know where to go from here.Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)
- 1. Since it's a volume charge distribution , charge = rho*volume . Take a cylindrical gaussian surface of length 'h' at distance r from the axis . Now , E*2pie*r*h = q/epsilon = rho*pie*r^2*h/epsilon . which gives E = rho*r/2epsilon . 2. The electric field due to non-conducting sheet is sigma/2epsilon which gives your answer sigma = -2mg(epsilon)/q . The electric field due to conducting plate is sigma/epsilon since it has two effective surfaces with charge . You must have got confused there . Hope this helps .
