Q: Also death metal
Basically the differences between the genres stem from alterations in playing style, lyrics, imagery, song structure, whatever. From a very basic point of view I'd go to wikipedia and look up each genre. Wikipedia defines each genre pretty clearly in regards to the things I've mentioned. What you should do is go to youtube and type in something like best thrash metal bands and listen to what they all have in common. Eventually you replace thrash with other metal subgenres and you'll begin to pick up the differences between the genres.
Q: What is progressive metal?
Metal and Love songs... No, that's why they invented Hair Metal, to satisfy the girlfriends of the Metal listening headbangers. Metal and hate, now what's an easy answer... Metal and death, a snap. But Love? Yeah, I don't think so.
Q: What are transition metal? How do transition metals react?Do they behave like metals or non-metals?What are some of the properties? Why does the name transition metal suits them?
Power Metal: Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Angra etc. etc.
Q: hi . element X melts at a temperature lower than that of boiling water. it fails to react with hydrochloric acid and 1centimeter cube (1 cm^3) of the element has a mass of 1.8g. identify element X as a metal or a non metal. Give reasons to justify your answer. thank you
ALKALI metals: - 1 valence electron, so highly reactive - soft metals - silvery in color - low boiling and melting points - large atomic radi ALKALINE metals: - have 2 valence electrons, still very reactive - shiny, silvery-white colour - when heated in flame, Mg gives a brilliant white flame, Ca a brick-red, Sr a crimson, and Ba an apple green - harder and denser than sodium and potassium, and have higher melting points - found combined with oxygen and other non metals in earth's crust TRANSITION metals: - are electric conductors - have luster - malleable - most are hard solids with relatively high melting and boiling points - because of unpaired d electrons, they can have oxidation numbers of +4, +5, etc.
Q: When it comes to........Death Metal?....Black Metal?....Melodic Death Metal?....Heavy Metal?....other Metal?
Aluminium metal combines with the oxygen from the air on heating to form aluminium oxide. The reaction can be represented using a balanced equation as 4 Al (s) + 3O2(g) => 2Al2O3(s)
Q: Remember Pop fans Metal isn't just the black metal crap that you hear on the radioRemember Metal there are still some quality pop songs (very very little but there is always one once in a while)
In no particular order, though I'm numbering them so that it's easier on your eyes 1.Iron Maiden (of course)- NWOBHM 2.Candlemass- Doom Metal 3.Amon Amarth- Viking-themed Melodic Death Metal 4.Ensiferum- Folk Metal/Melodic Death Metal 5.In Flames (the melo-death, not metalcore band)- Melodic Death Metal 6.Children of Bodom- Melodic Death Metal 7.Soilwork- Melodic Death Metal (as you can see, melo-death is my favorite) 8.Kalmah- Melodic Death Metal 9.Death- Death Metal 10.Opeth- Progressive Death Metal 11.Slayer- Thrash Metal 12.Iced Earth- Power Metal 12.Symphony X- Power Metal/Neoclassical (genre is debatable) 13.Wintersun- Melodic Death Metal 14.Arch Enemy- Melodic Death Metal 15.Immortal- Black Metal 16.Finntroll- Folk Metal 17.Judas Priest- NWOBHM 18.Epica- Symphonic Metal 19.Nightwish- Symphonic/Gothic Metal 20.Sonata Arctica- Power Metal
Q: What pedal would you recommend for heavy metal? boss metal mt-2 ml-2, mxr fullbore metal, something by digitech?
Pig Destroyer (grind) Blood Red Throne (brutal death metal w/ member of Emperor) Kronos (brutal/technical death metal) Krisiun (brutal death metal) Deeds of Flesh (brutal/technical death metal) Misery Index (basically dying fetus minus John Gallegher) Brujeria (Grind/death metal band sang in mexican) Carcass (Grind) Cryptopsy (brutal/technical death metal) Lock Up (death metal made up of members from At the Gates, Napalm Death, and Fear Factory)
Q: What's the Coefficient of Static Friction for Metal on Metal, and for Leather on Metal??I also need sources for the values.
well, steel is a type of metal. It's sort of like asking the difference between a bug and an ant, an ant is a bug, but not every bug is an ant. Likewise, steel is metal, but not all metal is steel. Gold is metal, Silver is metal, Iron is metal, Steel is metal.
Q: What determines the reactivity of a metal?
There would be if you paid someone to play it on an electric guitar
Q: I don't know much metal besides Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer. I know pretty much no screamo. Just no death metal and screamo with vocals please (like BVB). Thanks
Deafheaven a combination of black metal, post metal and blackgaze. Blackgaze is a subcategory of shoegaze, which is a subcategory of indie rock, alternative rock and neo-psychedelia. It typically has guitar distortion, feedback and distorted vocals. Post metal in general is a stylistic fusion of heavy metal and/or shoegazing. The overall sound is very bass heavy, with guitars being turned down to B or lower. It is closely related to avant garde metal. Due to is experimentation and exploration of different sounds and uses of different instruments. Atmospheric black metal is more along the lines of a band like Ulver and Summoning. But blackgaze is influenced by atmospheric black metal. For more blackgaze look at bands like Ghost Bath, Vaura, Altar of Plagues and Alcest. In essence blackgaze is shoegaze and black metal combined.
