Q:Hi, I just wanted to know if Ceramic tiles are better than stone tiles? When we signed a contract for a new house, they offered us Stone tiles, but now they are calling us and telling that they do not offer stone tiles instead ceramic tiles are now standard. I wanted to know which one is better and why?
Ceramic tile is cheaper than stone but we have installed ceramic or porcelain tiles in all bathrooms for the ease of upkeep. Stone does look richer but it needs to be sealed at least once a year maybe more. The sealing part is easy but the stone tile needs to be completely clean first. That is the 'hard work' part. Ceramic tile will hold up to almost anything in a bathroom and the grout is the only thing that needs sealing. (You'd probably have grout to seal with the stone too) If you signed for stone, I'd make sure that they are going to give you some kind of refund for the difference of the cost. They are saving a a few bucks here so make them pass it on.
Q:well I burned a small hole in a linoleum tile. How do I fix it?
if the linoleum tile is in the corner of the room you can always try peeling it off with a scraper an hopefully you will have hardwood floor underneath
Q:If you were going to tile an entire room would you start from the walls or floor? The room is only small 12m walls 4m floor is a basic toilet basin. There are no border tiles no fllor to wall tiles.
i really dont know how to answer this question im really sorry but my moms boyfriend meant know i can talk to him and found the answer
Q:Trying to clean my kitchen's Ceramic tiles . Does any one know a good way to clean stain from Ceramic tiles and how to prevent it in future.
what is the stain caused from?
Q:Bai Peng tiles origin? how is it?
You have not provided the brand we have tested, to provide you with the method of selecting the tile, I hope to help you. 1 election origin Almost tiles on the market come from two places: Guangdong and Shandong. Guangdong brick overall quality is better than Shandong brick, domestic brands of ceramic tile origin is also generally from Guangdong, so a simple choice of Guangdong brick. (Shandong bricks are also good quality, but more need to blink of an eye). 2 to see flatness Flatness is very critical, if the flatness is very poor, it is difficult to shop in the edge of each tile are not the edge of the gap, there is not only the impact of visual effects affected, serious and even cause Ge (gè) feet. Figure tiles flatness is very poor gap is too large Method one: the same paragraph of the two tiles on the face of the table, his hands pinching side, observe the other side of the tilt, tilt the smaller, the higher the flatness. (This method is suitable for fully flattened bricks that do not apply to antique tiles and bricks with special craftsmanship)
Q:China 's top ten brand tiles

Q:looikng to get a large hall way and medium kitchen floor done been quoted 1100 with fitting for a good quality laminate tile effect would actual tiles be much more or maybe even less due to the undlay needed with a laminate?
Tiles everytime they last forever.
Q:We had redid our cupboards a couple years ago and still have to properly cover the hole that was left for the vent on the previous vent system. It looks like they used staples of some type but the way it is just needing 1 and a half (or less) tiles it‘s awkward.
Most ceiling tiles have a tounge groove so each tile fits into another. When you are piecing in tiles it's impossible to get the tounges in the grooves without breaking them. I would suggest, cutting off the tounges with a razor knife and install with Liquid nails or some other construction adhesive. To keep the tiles in place while the glue is drying, cut a 2X4 long enough and put it under the tile while the glue sets up. You might want to put a towell between the tile and the 2X4 to keep from damaging the tile. For the 1/2 tile, score the backside of a tile with a razor knife then break it in half.
Q:My father wanted to replace the tiles in the master bathroom as he plans on putting the house on the market. I was skeptical whether or not he could accomplish the project and after hitting several snags I‘ve decided to get involved. The problem is that the old tile was removed and there‘s only 7/8 - 1 to work with. The new tile is 3/8 thick; leaving 1/2. His original plan was to lay down plywood, cement board, then tile, however, it‘s going to raise the floor a solid 1 which will cause several complications. Any advice on what the #$@* I‘m supposed do? I truly appreciate all of your help.
Once you pull up the tiles and the old and get to the original subfloor you can put your backerboard directly on that. You don't need an extra layer of plywood. If you feel the subfloor is not sufficient you need to replace it too. If the subfloor is sturdy it is okay to put down a layer of thinset, then put down your backer, then screw the backer and fill the seams with thinset and the appropriate seam tape. Then lay your tiles like normal.
Q:I‘m on a tight budget but some people say tile is better I dont know which is best and will last longer and easy to maintain Any ideas what to do?
you did not specify, ceramic tile or V.C.T(vinyl composition tile) ?. as a flooring installer the cheapest over all installatin would be the vinyl in both rooms, then the v.c.t., then the ceramic tile . vinyl would be the easiest to care for, most vinyl sheetgoods have a high sheen for a nowax finish just damp mop and your done. spills pool on it instead of finding cracks to seep into like w/ tile. fairly easy to install with minimal materials(vinyl, underlayment, something to fill the cracks between the under layment , i use dry wall mud, and glue). V.C.T. over wood floors cracks within a couple of years and takes work to maintain w / stripping and waxing. ceramic tile you have grout lines to keep clean to maintain an even look to your floor plus in the higher traffic areas the finish gets wore off and dull looking, then you get to have a pro reglaze or replace. plus it can get quite costly to replace broken or chipped ceramic tiles. down the road easiest to replace the vinly. to me money is money and dont care which i install for a customer. but at home i'd go w/ the vinyl.
