Q: Hi, I recently replaced a washer on my hot water faucet and now when running the hot and cold water to shower etc. both run for a bit of time and then I hear a thunk noise (loud enough to hear above the noise of water running) and the hot water will drop off as if it is turned off. I then turn on more and the water runs with no problem. This is constant every time I use it. Any ideas. I believe my cold water slows down also but cannot be sure. I have two handle faucet with a pull up button (for shower) on spout. Sometimes the water after turning it up will come out of the faucet head alittle as if the water is pushing out where ever it can. Thank you for any help you can give me.
Sound like you have a bad anti-scald valve. Generally you need to replace the entire tub/shower valve, but some manufactures design theirs with a replaceble anti-scald unit.
Q: 10 big kitchen faucet brand which, what brand of faucet good?
Kohler, Frank, Cong, Moen, and so on
Q: The faucets are Kohler faucets and they are probably not brass but are brass colored. Any suggestions you might have will be appreciated.
if you aren't sure if it actually is brass i'm not sure how well of a job it will do in polishing it. Basically most polishes work by rubbing off the oxide that has formed. I'm not sure how brasso wil react with non-brass metals, the same way iwouldn't polish sterling silver with brasso. if anything might i suggest some sort of home concoction? I Think vinegar was something peoples used as polishing. It has an acidic property to help remove the oxide, but no chemicals to worry about that might mingle with the metal. I don't recall what else they mix with the vinegar. You can just google "home made polish" I'm sure it'llg ive you a list of them Well good luck with your fixtures.

(1) Before installation, please open the water, remove impurities in the pipe, sand, etc., and then close the water. (2) the flange cover locked into the elbow teeth, and then the teeth wrapped around the stop belt, locked into the strong pipe, adjust the hot and cold water elbow, rotation angle to the flush and the distance and Body hot and cold water hole from the same, then the flange cover rotation close to the wall. (3) the rubber gasket into the body hot and cold water into the connecting nut, and then connected with the hot and cold water elbow lock, please use the 30mm wrench.
Q: I purchased a new faucet with sprayer. Currently I have a faucet but no sprayer.next to where the sprayer should go, there is a overflow for my dishwasher. Do I need to drill another hole or do I need to do something with the overflow ?
The overflow is there so that if your kitchen sink clogs then it does not fill up your dishwasher with nasty sewer water. If you take the overflow (called an Air Gap) out then you would have dirty nasty water going into your dishwasher with your dishes. You can drill a hole in the sink but I warn you that this is difficult to do. I would recommend purchasing a pull out sprayer faucet. It's more costly but will save you the trouble of drilling a hole. They also make faucets that have the sprayer hole built in to the body of the faucet but this looks a little weird. If you get the pull out sprayer then you will like it and it looks nice too. So, just shell out a little more money and get a good faucet that looks good too!
Q: how can i change the kitchen faucet and sprayer?
Select one at a hardware store and install it. If you are asking how to remove and install one that's different. You will need a basin wrench to reach up high to the old and new fixture to remove and install new lines. New fixtures come with complete instructions. Basically all you do is turn off the water lines, remove the lines, remove all the nuts holding the old fixture in place, then reverse the procedure to install the new one. Not usually very difficult to do.
Q: Other water pipes are through, only the kitchen faucet no water, what reason
Guess is the main pipe to the kitchen that part of the pipe was blocked, it is likely to be frozen.
Q: how necessary is a reservoir wrench when installing a new faucet?
Since there is no such thing, not very important at all. If you mean a basin wrench (such as what is in the provided link), though not *necessary* it can (in some circumstances) make installation much easier. Al

Q: The sink fixture when installed never sealed properly and water can seep between the portion of the faucet that meets the sink basin. Just a small area - I'm not replacing the sink - just can't and won't. I had used some clear caulk around the base of the faucet fixture, but it came off after a few months: it was silicone, but in the fine print it says that it was for windows and doors (I just took the tube he handed me then left). It worked fine while it lasted, but what type would you suggest?
the silicone should be sufficient. you may not have installed it properly. you have to make sure that the area you are sealing is clean of previous caulking. you also have to make sure that the area is very dry prior to putting the seal. then once you put the caulking on make sure you don't use the sink for 48hrs. Avoid getting it wet. It should last after that. you could also put some plumbing putty into the space then put the caulking. You might want to check under the sink if there is a way for you to tighten the faucet down to get rid of the gap.
