- Q: looking for a good metal band that is just insane on guitar. something with a heavy metallica-like crunch to it, and with out of the world solos. is there like a screamo band like that, besides lamb of god?
- Metals are alloys, solid, malleable, gives up electrons with ease and are good conductors of hear and electricity. Non-metals are come in three major forms: liquids, gases, and solids, soluble and non malleable.
- Q: k. I lovee metal i want to know the whooooole story... can anyone help?
- Order: *Full Metal Panic! *Full Metal Panic! Σ (Σ is the symbol for sigma not stigma.) *Full Metal Panic! Overload *Full Metal Panic! Surplus *Full Metal Panic! Comic Mission Σ is a sequel to the original Full Metal Panic!. Surplus is a sequel to Overload. Both Surplus and Overload are comedy/gag versions of the original Full Metal Panic! only. Comic Mission is just like Surplus and Overload in being a comedy/gag version of the original Full Metal Panic! but it also uses characters from Σ.
- Q: Which do you prefer.
- Beherit (!) Amorphis Demilich Catamenia Horna Demigod Rotten Sound Amorphis Omnium Gatherum Eh, there's a load more but these are the first ones that came to mind who I think are actually good (or at least have some good albums).
- Q: I'm just getting into listening metal and wanna know the different styles. What other kinds of metal are there. And what are the differences. What genre is Behemoth, Slipknot, COF?
- I don't know what you mean by metal other than heavy metal or just metal in general, so... Progressive in metal is differentiated from other metal by several things. You can have more than just progressive metal too, you can have progressive black metal (Klabautamann, Subarctic Heir), progressive death metal (Opeth, Death), progressive [heavy] metal (Winds (Nor)), progressive thrash metal (Turbulence (Grc))... etc. Progressive metal often has clean passages, time signatures other than your standard 4/4 or 6/4, and musically complex melodies. That's not to say that the melodies are complex from a playing standpoint, but that in music theory standpoint they're complex and/or unusual. Alternating key changes, especially ones not typical like going by 5ths, but instead changing keys to the third (I.E. instead of going from C to G (5th), going from C to E (3rd)). Often times the rhythm arrangement will be as musically complex as the melody. Progressive songs also tend to be much longer than traditional songs, where as say a regular/tradition metal song would last 3-5 minutes, an average progressive metal song may last 5-10 minutes. Progressive metal lyrics also tend to be more conceptual, and albums tend to be more conceptual, often times telling a story, with each song being a different chapter of the story. Progressive metal also tends to have a lot of shredding in its music. Mostly what sets progressive metal out is its experimentation in compositional complexity, often taking influence from classical music and jazz. This is not to be confused with avant-garde, which tends to lend its experimentation to using non-standard instruments, or using standard instruments in non-standard ways.
- Q: can anyone tell me any cool non-english metal bands? especially german, romanian, japanese and korean.
- Heavy Metal: Metallica Megadeth Judas Priest Black Sabbath Mot?rhead Diamond Head Budgie Angel Witch Manowar Metal Church Annihilator Voivod Thrash Metal: Metallica Megadeth Anthrax Slayer Exodus Flotsam Jetsam Kreator Overkill Destruction Testament Coroner Iced Earth Heathen Nuclear Assault Toxic Holocaust Warbringer Havok Sodom Death Metal: Death Deicide Morbid Angel Obituary Possessed Autopsy Bloodbath Hypocrisy Decapitated Pestilence Devourment Bolt Thrower These are just some bands to get you started with. And I'm not sure if you'll get into other metal subgenres straight away like from heavy metal to thrash then from thrash to death, as it might take time or you never know, you might not like it at all. But heavy metal and thrash have many similarities so you should like thrash too. People who listen to heavy metal also like thrash. I mean, Metallica was thrash back in the 80s and now they're heavy metal, and they're still great in my opinion (not as great as they used to though, but still)
- Q: someone said it was one of the genres of metal in a answer to my question but I don't know what it is!
- Well I can think of a number of them, though probably not all ! You must first find out about the characteristics of the metal, type of metal,- as a number of things are classified as metal , - such as steel, aluminum, copper, alloys, like brass nickel etc. Then you have tensil-strength, - which is the hardness of the material, - as working the material (such as stretching, bending,) in order to get the material formed like a (car fender or a bowl for instance). You will also need to know how to prevent oxidation (called rust or corrosion), and what primer/paints required for different metals. Also joining different metals, welding etc. So you can see that you need to learn a lot!
- Q: there not hair metal there hard rock
- Dude you have to expand your thoughts if you think pointedly about anything art, life, and general other things you miss out on the greatest things. I love metal its my favorite style of music, but I'm willing to listen to anything.......exept christian music, country, and rap(rap does have a good beat sometimes though). Metal is a great way for me to get into any book I'm currently reading(that's hardcore) and go with the flow man.
- Q: For me, It's currently Industrial Metal.
- My fav metal band is Judas Priest. They're a British classic metal band. Check out Nighcrawler, Hell Patrol, and Living After Midnight (more of a rock song, but still great). There's also their song Metal Meltdown... That's a good one. Also, I love Iron Maiden... Another classic metal band!!! I'm sure you know who they are ;D A modern metal band... There's System of a Down, which is my fav. They're metal, so don't listen to somebody if they say they aren't... Just listen to their Toxicity CD. They're a progressive-rock/metal/doom-metal(psyche... genre. They rock pretty hard dude. Another modern one is Children of Bodem, which is more death metal than anything...
- Q: is it a metal that acts like a non-metal or other way around?
- Magnetism has to do with unpaired electrons. Electrons spin clockwise or counter clockwise. Generally they are paired. When they are not they create magnetism. Iron has 3 unpaired electrons and demostrates tahe greatest magnetism. cobalt and nickle also demonstrate some magnetism. Also, some of the rare earths and some alloys such as Alnico and steel. RECENTLY, several papers have been published on the use of polarized light for revealing the grain structure of metals and alloys. Hone and Pearson1 showed that by examining under polarized light a polished aluminium surface which had been anodized in a suitable electrolyte, the grain structure was revealed, differently oriented grains appearing with different brightnesses. Woodward2, by etching 'Monel' metal in a specific reagent, has found similar effects. Polished surfaces of aluminium and 'Monel' metal, being optically isotropic, do not react to polarized light as do the optically anisotropic surfaces of tin, zinc, cadmium, etc., and the above authors1,2 have attributed the optical anisotropy of the anodized aluminium and etched 'Monel' metal to the anisotropic properties of the surface film formed during anodizing or etching. Although this explanation may be correct, there is a possible alternative which involves the surface contour of the specimen, for it is well known that if pearlite is examined under polarized light no reaction occurs unless the specimen is etched. This has been shown convincingly by Baeyertz3 to be due to the presence of fine parallel grooves on the surface, formed by etching away the ferrite and leaving the cementite lamell? in relief. Furthermore, Jones4 has shown that polarization effects can be produced by deeply etching a metal surface.
- Q: I know that physical metals are probably a better investment but should I also have some stocks? My grandma used to tell me it's a good idea to have a diversed financial portfolio. Should I have all physical metals with no stocks or mostly physical metals with some stocks?
- The % metal in the ore is determined by analyzing a sample of the material the amount of metal is then devided by the size of the sample to determine its percent. Once the ore is mined, the metals must be extracted, usually by chemical or electrolytic reduction. Pyrometallurgy uses high temperatures to convert ore into raw metals, while hydrometallurgy employs aqueous chemistry for the same purpose. The methods used depend on the metal and their contaminants.
