- Glass is a liquid. Thus, it flows, just very very slowly. That means it will be thicker at the bottom, if mounted vertically, over a long period of time. After enough time has passed, the glass wont even be in the window anymore, it will have spilled downwards, just like spilling any other liquid. Just in extreme slow motion.

- Q:Instead of spending thousands of dollars on new windows in certain areas i am going to build my own for sheets of glass and metal/wooden framing. Is there anyone out there who knows of a decent diy window project site or book. I am going to try and make the windows as energy efficient as possible and i would like to know any ways this might be achieved.any help would be greatly appreciated.
- I've never broke down the prices, but I bet you end up spending more. If not initially, then in the long run. Insulated glass, which you will need to order, will be somewhat expensive. And probably won't do as well as what a moderately priced replacement window. I spent about 3 grand on 15 Pella windows (11 double hung, 4 small sliders for the basement) You will end up using wood jambs, sashes. Plus hardware. It will take a long time to build the windows, time you could spend making money other ways to pay for the windows. It will be harder to get the windows air tight. So in the end, a good replacement window will save you more in time and energy savings, then a home made version.
- Q:Sorry if this is a really stupid question, please go easy on me.Tell me if this is possible or not:An aviary that in 10m or more long in length which houses smaller species of birds. Part of the aviary is against the house and a window. The window is tinted so that the birds don't think that they can fly through it (but would the reflection still be a problem?). But people in the room can see through the window and the birds in the aviary.Possible or bad idea? Any alternatives? I have seen entire aviaries made out of acrylic and see-through, and also a restaurant with a massive aviary the size of the wall behind glass, I just wonder how they do it without birds breaking their necks on the glass.
- What we did with our aviary (home grown built as well) was put a layer of screened mesh (like you use for patio screens) over the acrylic windows. It helps to dim the glare and prevents the birds from running into them. It's cheap and you can buy it in rolls. Just staple it to the wood around the frame of your windows.

- It means that fantasy and reality are not one and the same thing. In a fantasy people can imagine what they want to. So for this fantasy you can picture a shock wave. Titan takes off by providing a very sudden very high force. Which radiates through the building shattering glass. Just like high explosive would. But this is only a background to a plausible fiction.

- The Louvre in Paris has a glass pyramid at its entrance. You maybe able to access the cost of its construction by doing a bit of research on the recent renovations to the Louvre. It would depend on what type of glass,its thickness and the size of the pyramid as to how much the estimated cost would be. There would also be factors of the glaziers manpower and manpower hours needed to cut the glass and then erect it. I believe there is also a shopping centre in Dubai that has a glass pyramid as its roof that depicts the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt. I can't help you any further I am sorry to say. This is a rather strange and fanciful school project,one that I cannot really see much point in, except of it is to do with a mathematics class.
