Q: also...what kind of glue would i need to glue it to the bottom of a skimboard?
Polystyrene plastic is sold in sheet form at many hobby and model shops. Evergreen is the most common brand name - available from thicknesses of 0.005 and up - cost about $3-5 for a sheet 4 x 10. The glue you use depends on both materials being put together, and also the weather and forces that will be applied to it. If both are poly styrene an acetone-based solvent suchs as Testor's or Ambroid will dissolve the plastic and thus weld it together. If theyv are differnet materials - (what is a skimboard made from and where does it go?) - I would seek some advice form someone in that hobby.
Q: What kind of material (thin flexible plastic sheet) is used on the inside to make a lamp shade cover?
it's called mylar. you should be able to buy it at a craft store.
Q: I have tried a variety of tapes that all slowly fall off over time. I'm looking for a more permanent way to attach two flat sheets of plastic about 10x10 together to form a seam.
You could try sewing them together. There are also zippers sold for sheet plastic, so you can make a temporary doorway when you need to seal off part of your house from construction dust. You could use that and just never open the zipper. Google peel and stick zipper.
Q: Are plastic sheets transparent or translucent?
Plastic sheets can be both transparent and translucent, depending on their composition and thickness.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for aquariums?
Yes, plastic sheets can be used for aquariums. However, it is important to ensure that the plastic used is safe for aquatic life and does not release any harmful substances into the water. Additionally, the plastic should be sturdy enough to withstand the water pressure and not easily scratch or degrade over time.
Q: They smelled a little different than the surrounding fir and spruce trees but was still kind of a natural odor. The cardboard sheets were also wrapped in the white plastic lattice. Maybe they're something the forestry service uses? But for what??
Swiffer pads, no real idea.
Q: I am about to buy a Create and I have heard a lot of people complaining about the nibs being destroyed very fast due to the paper-like surface of the tablet drawing area, so I was wondering if putting paper or plastic would make the nibs last longer (without compromising the tablet performance).
Not a bad idea but I don't think it's necessary. You could try it though. I just don't think it's worth it. (I can tell you that putting a paper under it won't help. If anything it makes using it more difficult.) This is assuming you're not going to be sitting at your computer drawing (or whatever) constantly 24/7. Bamboo create has an eraser on the back of the pen. If you feel like your nib is wearing out to quick you can draw with it as well. I don't notice much of a difference between drawing with the nib side or the eraser side. Also the tablet does come with a few replacement nibs. They'll last longer than you think! Just DON'T loose them! If you want the nib to last longer only use it for drawing (or whatever it is you specifically got it for) use the eraser or you finger the rest of the time. I've had my tablet for half a year and I haven't even gone through one nib even though I draw a lot. I would also like to note that at some point you will most likely need to install a driver to your computer. I had a rather annoying issue a few months ago when the tablet knew the pen was there but the cusser wasn't showing up on the screen. The driver fixed this all up. I've also had a very positive experience with customer service. Sent me a new USB cord when my original broke, no questions asked. :)
Q: Are plastic sheets lightweight?
Yes, plastic sheets are typically lightweight.
Q: Can plastic sheets be used for automotive windshields?
No, plastic sheets cannot be used for automotive windshields. Automotive windshields are typically made of laminated glass, which provides the necessary strength and safety features required for a windshield.
Q: Are plastic sheets safe for food contact?
Yes, plastic sheets are generally safe for food contact as long as they are made from food-grade materials that are free from harmful chemicals and toxins.
