- Q: Can glass reflect light? explain
- It reαlly depends on the type of glαss, color etc....but in general yes, αll glαss reflects α portion of the light thαt hits it, and refrαcts (absorbs/allows to pass through) αnother portion. Look into a window, you'll notice some sort of faint image on the surface, meaning the glass is reflecting some light, as well as an actual image through the window, meaning the light coming from outside the window is passing through it into your eyes.
- Q: I've heard that the black lights, at stores like Spencers Gifts that are black but have the purple light, are harmful to the eyes if you look into the bulb. Is that true or is it for different kinds of black lights or something?
- While black lights do produce light in the UV range, their spectrum is confined to the longwave UVA region. UVA is considered the safest of the three spectrums of UV light. It is more dangerous to pass an hour outside in the sun than to look at a black light for 12 hours. There are no health risks with black lights.

- Often the ground is at fault. Sometimes it takes taking the trailer around the block to get a good connection on the ball for the ground.
- Q: how to make custom fluorescent light fixture for black lights
- Black lights get much hotter than regular fluorescent bulbs. And like regular fluorescents, they need a grounded metal surface to be close to the full length of the bulb. Together, these mean the fixture housing should be in metal. So, unless you have the capabilities to make the fixture out of sheet metal, I would recommend that you buy a cheap, regular fluorescent fixture and swap out the a ballast and/or tombstones as needed to drive the black light tube you have purchased.
