Organic solvent method of solubility and dissolution:
EC can be dissolved in various organic solvents, such as fatty acid (ethanol, isopropyl alcohol), other alcohols, ketones, aromatic and so on. Common solvent (volume ratio):

Alcohols and aromatics in the viscosity of the mixture, going down with alcohol content higher, when alcohol accounts for 30-35%, the lowest viscosity of the composition. Dissolution method: the EC under the stirring slowly add the container filled with a solvent until complete wetting dissolved.

Q: What is the difference between Artificial and Synthetic additives?
Artificial additive is introducing a chemical not normally found in the food, it is not innate but added to provide color, flavor, vitamins or other essential nutrient or to prolong shelf-life. Iodine is added to salt to prevent thyroid diseases, vitamin D and calcium are added to milk prevent rickets. These diseases were once very common but education, improved food storage and transport, and additives have radically reduced their incidence in many countries. Some additives are harvested from domestic plants like guar gum and are added as thickeners. A synthetic additive has been manufactured and added.

There are 2 kinds of inversesAdditive and Multiplicative. Additive inverse means you should get 0 as your result or sum and Multiplicative means having 1 as your product. so you should just get the number that when added to 1/3 will make the sum 0. you could simply do it mentally or equate it to 0 since you are looking for an unknown.: x+1/30 x -1/3 (transposed 1/3 to get the value of x) that's all. ^_^

Well smoking tobacco with no additives is better than smoking tobacco with additives. But it isn't no where near as nice (which is why they add additives). Besides, smoking tobacco with additives still contains nicotine and produces tar. Basically, smoking anything is not good for you!

Citric acid is a common and natural additive that is used to retain color of foods (like putting lemon juice on apples to prevent them from browning), it also adds a bitterness that can enhance the flavors of some foods. They will also do a cure for corned beef using potassium nitrate for the bright red color because otherwise, when it's cooked in liquid, it can turn a most unpleasant gray color that wouldn't be attractive to look at. It's about marketing, you eat with your eyes first so if a product doesn't appeal to you visually you probably wouldn't buy it to eat.
