Production description

A solar panel is a collection of solar cells. Lots of small solar cells spread over a large area can work together to provide enough power to be useful

The efficiency of a module determines the area of a module given the same rated output – an 8% efficient 230 watt module will have twice the area of a 16% efficient 230 watt module.

A solar cell, or photovoltaic cell, is an electrical device that converts the energy of light directly intoelectricity by the photovoltaic effect, which is a physical and chemical phenomenon.[1] It is a form of photoelectric cell, defined as a device whose electrical characteristics, such as current, voltage, or resistance, vary when exposed to light. Solar cells are the building blocks of photovoltaic modules, otherwise known as solar panels.

Multiple solar cells in an integrated group, all oriented in one plane, constitute a solar photovoltaic panel or solar photovoltaic module. Photovoltaic modules often have a sheet of glass on the sun-facing side, allowing light to pass while protecting the semiconductor wafers. Solar cells are usually connected in series in modules, creating an additive voltage. Connecting cells in parallel yields a higher current;

Q: I am confused. I am planning to build a simple 2Watt solar system to power some lights in my house. . I wonder if it is possible to power up a 2Watt bulb using 2Watt solar power?2. Normally, when we are reading the power rating of a bulb, we will read the wattage, so what about the voltage and current rating?3. If the current is insufficient, will the bulb light up?I am having a solar panel that can output 2W power but I am not sure about the output voltage, how can I find out about the current? I am getting really confused.
. Practically no. You have to account for startup current, and losses in the system. Ideally you would size your solar planel to provide the power you need to charge batteries in the day, for your needs at night. 2. Watts=Volts times Amps Really you just need to match the load and supply for volts, and make sure the supply has enough capacity to run your load. Current will take care of itself., in that the load will take what it needs to do its work. 3. It will bring the voltage down, causing the light to be dimmer.
Q: I am building a solar panel I have wired in series 36 .5 volt solar cells to produce 8 volts I have another panel that has 34 .5 volt solar cells to produce 7 volts. Any issues with wiring these 2 arrays in Parallel? I.E. would the smaller array take usable power away from the larger array?

Q: i have a calculator with a solar panel what could i power with it? like could i hook it up to a psp even though it will take forever to charge? and how would i do this?
take a look at the back of the psp, most rechargeable things have technical specifications for what kind of charger to use, like the voltage, the amps, and the wiring
Q: ok im going off grid and will have my fridge and stove running on propane but im trying to figure out that at night i want to be able to run my 32 inch lcd tv a internet modem a playstation 3 and 2 laptops and a light or 2 and maybe a floor fan through solar power and i would like to be able run my tv and stuff up to 8 hours in to the night and so i just want to know how many batterys and solar panels i need or how many watts system do i need im running all this on one outlet now at home so i know its under 20 amps and i think i use about 000 watts an hour im not sure so thats why im asking i really need help with this i hope i dont need a $5,000 system thats crazy im only wanting to spend like a $000 please dont explain math figures or a bunch of complicated garbage to me i just want a straight answer on what i need to do to be able to do this thank you!
There okorder / Why pay thousands of dollars for solar energy ($27,000 average cost) when you can build your own solar panel system for just a fraction of the retail cost. You can build a single solar panel or you can build an entire array of panels to power your whole house. Some people are saving 50% on their power bill, some people are reducing their bill to nothing. But what’s most impressive is that just by following these instructions some are even making the power company pay them!
Q: what is needed beside the panels and do you need an electrician to hook it up
most times yes.
Q: My family has been interested in solar technology for a long time. I want to know how to save money so I can get as many solar panels as possible. I know the government has different discounts/ grants, and there may be tax incentives. I am not looking to sell energy to the energy company I want to use the energy directly.

Q: I am looking to wire in some solar panels into my home. I already have plenty of wiring, and some solar panels around. I just need to know what I need to do to wire them into my home so I can lower my electric bill. This past month it was six hundred dollars. Can someone direct me to some information, or tell me how without telling me to hire some guy to come out to charge me thirty thousand dollars to install two or three thousand dollars worth of equipment?
The essentials are to connect the panels in a configuration that matches the inverter. My system has twenty 24 volt panels in series, to an inverter that wants to see 480. They could have been in any series-parallel configuration to match an inverter that used different voltage. I chose the high voltage route to reduce IR losses in the connections. The proper inverter is essential on grid connected systems. It must be able to disconnect from the grid if grid power fails, and to come back on line automatically, and in phase. There has to be a fused disconnect between the panels and the inverter. When connecting to the grid, another fused disconnect is required. My power company was very specific about acceptable switches. Just using a good brand doesn't hack it. Lots of good info on solar panels in the green search box above on this page.
Q: can solar panels be on houses? malls?stores? WHAT ABOUT TRAINS?
Solar panels are, well panels that take solar energy from the sun, and use it as heat or electricity. It is used for many things but depending on the power of the sun and the panel, they can be used for trains, houses to heat them but you need a lot of sun, and they don't work without sun obviously.
Q: i've heard environmentalists like ed begley jr use the phrase quot;peak shaving hourswhen talking about solar energy.what does that phrase mean, please?thank you to all who respond.
You okorder /... This is known as 'Grid-Tied' Solar in the open market.
Q: Can solar panels be installed on a deck or patio?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a deck or patio. In fact, many homeowners choose to install solar panels on their outdoor spaces to maximize sunlight exposure and take advantage of the available space. However, it is important to consider the structural integrity of the deck or patio and ensure that it can support the weight of the solar panels. Additionally, local regulations and permits may be required before installation.
