- you have to realize, it's just a machine. It does one function- it sucks. You need to face your fear and desensitize yourself. That means, repeatedly turn on the vacuum each night and vacuum the place. Eventually, the fear will fade.

- Look if the vacuum cleaner tube is not blocked by something. Look in the user manual if you don't know how. It can also be that the security lock blocks out that you can start to vacuum. See first if you have some warranty left before you go to the shop where you bought it and don't forget the ticket, so if it is a engine failure and not your fault it may be that you get an other for free.

- Get a good quality vacuum, use it often enough so it doesn't have to handle a lot of hair at one time, and clean hair away from the rotating brush and belt often. Every vacuum there is will have the same problem of long hair gumming up the belt but a good one will handle it somewhat better. And I mean one that costs more than $200. You get what you pay for.
- Q: The ball can move up and down. I looked closely, and the ball can seal the hole. I flipped my vacuum upside down and the pressure easily holds the ball there. I suppose it must be there to help the flow. Not sure if any swirling occurs below the impeller suction hole, but I doubt it. Is the sphere acting as a diffuser or nozzle somehow?Just wondering. Thanks.
- Shop vacs are designed to suck up liquids and when the tank fills the ball will float and eventually plug the air suction opening to the blower. The ball is there to prevent liquid from the tank from being sprayed out of the vacuum and to protect the motor from that liquid.
- Q: I sucked up 2 big spiders, bigger than a quarter and 1 moth with a vacuum nozzle thing. after i sucked up the last spider, i left the vacuum on for about another minute to make sure the spider is dead. do you think its dead? cause now im scared to leave my room cause im afraid the spiders can crawl back up.

- We have a Sharp Twin Energy 12 amp at work and it has amazing suction. In fact I have had to put electrical tape on the cord in a couple of spots. It's suction pulled its own cord in and tore it a little. It's about 5 or 6 years old but it still works great!
