FAQ:

Q1: Why buy Materials & Equipment from OKorder.com?

A: All products offered byOKorder.com are carefully selected from China's most reliable manufacturing enterprises. Through its ISO certifications, OKorder.com adheres to the highest standards and a commitment to supply chain safety and customer satisfaction.

Q2: What is a solar PV module?

A: A solar PV module consists of many solar cells that are connected together (typically in series) and packaged in a frame (typically made of aluminum).

Q3: What are the advantages and disadvantages of monocrystalline solar PV modules?

A: Monocrystalline solar PV modules are the most efficient type of solar PV modules, with the exception of CdTe thin film solar PV modules. As a result, monocrystalline solar PV modules are more expensive when compared to almost all other types of solar PV modules.

Q4: What is the typical service life of a solar PV module?

A: The typical life of a PV module is 25 years. However, superior quality PV modules boast service lives up to 35-40 years (electrical generating capacity is often reduced, however by that point).

Q:I've been looking into solar panels. They are fairly expensive ($35k or so). My state has some rebates and grants available. Is anyone aware of any federal grants and rebates other than the federal tax credit? We are subject to AMT tax and can't take the credit. (Which is ridiculous, is the federal government committed to conservation or aren't they??????)
I have some panels on my house and no they are not cheap. If you look around you can buy them for around $4.70 per watt for a 00 plus watt panel, this will make them $470 or more. But you will get a first quality panel. And no I do not know of any fed. government programs for home owners. These kind of programs usually only go to large companies. And it does not look like our government is going to help seeing how the let the large oil companies keep there tax programs but refused to help solar. This just happened today when the senate voted on the energy plane. Good luck go solar
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a theme park or tourist attraction?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a theme park or tourist attraction. In fact, many theme parks and tourist attractions around the world are adopting solar energy as a sustainable and cost-effective way to meet their power needs. Solar panels can be installed on rooftops, carports, or even as ground-mounted arrays in open spaces within the park, allowing these attractions to generate clean energy while reducing their carbon footprint.
Q:What is the difference b/w them which one is better .
these solar panels are named different based on the solar cells used... mono-crystalline solar cells: As the name suggests, each cell is made from a slice of a silicon crystal, which is made by purifying, melting and freezing silicon. pol-crystalline solar cells: these are a slight variation of single crystal solar cells. they are made of slices cut out of blocks of several silicon crystals, as opposed to single silicon crystals. check the link below to see other differences between the two types (easy to understand), such as their prices and efficiency levels. there is also a third type of solar cell/panel called amorphous solar cells.
Q:i need to cut down on electricity bills, and so i was wondering if someone could give me step-by-step instructions, or websites that have step-by-step instructions on how to build an electricity generating solar panel.
I have been researching solar electric (photovoltaic) for a while now and find that the up front cost will generally take 0 or more years to pay back. While the life expectancy is 30+ years, giving you 20 years of free energy, most people don't have the initial 20-30,000 start up cost. I've found that wind turbines can be built fairly inexpensively and parts can be easily obtained. The trade off is that wind turbines require maintenance and you also need to be in a reasonably windy area, many municipalities will have restrictions that will impact your ability to put one up as well. The batteries/converters to store/convert your power from DC to AC can also get expensive. Good Luck and thanks for being Earth Friendly and cost conscious! Let's hope that the cost of these products begin to decline as usage increases and new technology develops.
Q:For those solar panels that you install on your rooftops, do they generate electricity when it's cloudy? And if yes, how much electricity does it generate compared to sunny days? For example...like only 25% electricity generated compared to sunny days?
From my understanding they generate electricity when the suns out and when its out and there aren't too many clouds around covering up. They store some electricity for the winter and cloudier times but I'm not really an expert!
Q:what do solar panels do?
The solar panels are made of solar cells. A cell is a small disk of a semiconductor like silicon. They are attached by wire to a circuit. As light strikes the semiconductor, light is converted into electricity that flows through the circuit. As soon as the light is removed, the solar cell stops producing power.
Q:Is this true in a dc system? What if my battery current is negative?
I am not sure about your question ? If your Q is, what is the solar panels current output, it is 8.73A regardless of the load. If the Q is, How much extra current is available in this circuit, the answer is 3.58A ( 8.73 - 4.32-.83= 3.58)
Q:What is the proper diode to use on an 5v 500ma solar panel?
At least a 2 amp diode. rated above the 2 volts that are commonly found on the market. A blocking diode must be able to stop a higher current and voltage than the panel maximum. A diode will work on any voltage and current lower than it rating.
Q:Can solar panels be installed on a factory or industrial facility?
Yes, solar panels can be installed on a factory or industrial facility. In fact, many factories and industrial facilities are increasingly turning to solar power as a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution. Installing solar panels on such facilities can help reduce electricity bills, decrease reliance on fossil fuels, and contribute to a greener and more environmentally-friendly operation.
Q:Can solar panels be damaged by hail or other flying debris?
Yes, solar panels can be damaged by hail or other flying debris. While they are designed to withstand certain weather conditions, such as wind and rain, hailstorms or large debris impacts can cause physical damage to the panels and reduce their efficiency. It is important to install solar panels in a way that minimizes their exposure to potential hazards and to have insurance coverage for such incidents.
